Shane McClanahan (DK: $8200) Alright, so there are actually a few mid range pivots in Hunter Brown and Michael Wacha, but really none are better than the others and Shane, who despite always being an injury risk or short outing risk, is at home with San Diego being the 6th lowest projected SLG% on the slate.   Really really like this as a one off slate tonight with the primary focus being on hitters in these spots. These are the things we bitch about when we get old.   WEATHER All clear   It is a top heavy SP night tonight and there’s a few extras such as Chase Burns, Robbie Ray (8k), Wheeler vs Gilbert and even Kevin Gausman that should all be goo today.  This is what pivots me onto looking at two pay up pitchers instead of taking a likely chalk SP2 in Klassen as one of your must owns tonight.  Because there’s enough paths to getting a 20 from you pitcher & Klassen probably hits some bumps with the Angels so he isn’t gonna be 4x or anything drastic like that. Braxton Ashcraft (DK: $10,000) Very much back to his early season form with just three walks over the last four starts, three of which are on the road where he seems to be very comfortable & PETCO isn’t a tough spot.  Merrill is on fire & should be a spot for Brax to have to work around but Merrill also has very little protection behind him. Parker Messick (DK: $9500) He was 4th on my list with Klassen being third, but upon logic settling in, there is almost no reason not to ride with Messick at the top of the board with the other top arms going today. George Klassen (DK: $6500) Aint broke, dont fix it.  Just a value play, I’d lean on paying up but this could be a chalky SP2 today.     The Twins and Athletics out in Sacramento should be by far the chalk today.  There’s only one other really good stadium in the Cubs @ Diamondbacks, so the ownership’s likely  heavily on those Twins/Athletics hitters for good reason. Early Games Today: Jays at Yankees:  9-1 Yankees win.  Game is about 1-0 through 7 innings, then some bullshit and my under loses. Braves at Brewers:  Ozzie Albies homers….  Perez good through early part of game, then when Chourio and Contreras get to him second time they both hit doubles.  Good plays there.  Like Logan Henderson as a SP but this isn’t the spot – Olson’s homering today or tomorrow or both and Ozzie.  All the Ozzie…. There is still a lot of Baseball left, but for content purposes we are going to wind down starting this weekend.  Next Saturday is Week 0 for CFB and I’m excited about the re-design and updates to the data automation for College Football this season. Then of course once NFL starts up all Sat/Sun content really remains for that & Baseball is just here and there during the week in September.   WEATHER A very clear slate of 13 games tonight.  No issues expected.   Cam Schlittler (DK: $11,000) The big slate, pay up for SP1 rule applies here, as you can find value hitters & that should offset any concerns of him facing the same team twice in a row.  When that does happen historically it favors the SP who is now pitching at home in the second game.  It also helps that outside of Kirk and Okamoto there’s not much in the Jays lineup that’s consistent these days.  And Okamoto swings early and often, so he should get him into an 0-2 count.   I expect more of his start vs the Braves on August 9th which was 7 innings, 11 K than any risk today. Noah Cameron (DK: $7400) When a guy suddenly turns it on, you question if it was the opponent or just luck.  But in the case of Cameron his recent surge has been correlated with him calling his own pitches, so we have something to bank upon.  His confidence also is through the roof & really comes out strong when you watch him pitch of late.
