Alright, we are back! What the hell is this crap of a schedule for today? This is like going to a Metallica concert and finding out that the Gin Blossoms are opening up. I mean, you’ll listen to them, they aren’t the worst thing in the world, but we didn’t come here for Rangers-Marlins or a Tigers-Athletics double header now did we? It’s Baseball though, and at least it is AFTERNOON Baseball in the summer which is rare these days. So here is what we have, we have a THREE game slate synchronicity which includes: Tigers at Athletics – G1 of the double header Yankees at Astros – G1 of the double header … Amazing that they’re just sweeping Yanks at Astros under the rug here. Rangers at Marlins – Island game, they don’t play tomorrow. So this begs the obvious question. Did the Rangers non all-stars get to fly to Miami ahead of time on their own to spend their ASB in south beach? [spacer height=”20px”] WEATHER All games are fine. JON GRAY Crazy that Gray is now one of the more consistent and reliable pitchers in the game, but not having every other start in Coors Field might just be a good thing for him (who knew!). Gray is dominating RHH so far this season with a 28% K rate against them and he’ll see a heavy RHH lineup today as Jazz Chisholm Jr remains out for Miami. TARIK SKUBAL The park size combined with an opponent who is very bad 1-9 vs Sliders means that Skubal is in line for a 20+ point game this afternoon. He is someone to be very optimistic about in the second half as well. PABLO LOPEZ The Rangers are one of my potential second half sleeper teams, but that would come in August or September most likely. Given that Lopez pitches very well at home, I would consider him over anyone else as a third option today and think he is good leverage vs chalky Jon Gray on FanDuel. [spacer height=”12px”] YANKEES Stanton – Rizzo – Hicks Even though Cristian Javier was able to no-hit the Yankees a few weeks back Im not envisioning things going very smoothly today. They should hit…...
