Happy TestiFriday with 15 games total but only 14 for DFS as the Rockies and Cubs have a Friday afternoon tilt in Wrigleyville. The highlight of this weekend is going to be a few critical divisional series. The two big ones which stand out are the Phillies visiting the Braves and the Twins visiting the Guardians. The other teams who right now are playing well that you should monitor include the White Sox (shocking, I know), Astros and Mariners. Another spot which doesn’t have the full juice that should be good is Orioles at Jays. The Orioles have faded as expected but this remains a big series. All total the only series this weekend which have nobody fighting for anything are the Marlins/Nationals and Royals/Red Sox series. I guess technically the Dodgers/Giants series is irrelevant as well since they have clinched everything. [spacer height=”10px”] WEATHER All games are a go [spacer height=”10px”] For pitching tonight, Justin Verlander is back on the bump, and no we are not using him at 11k in a spot they do not need him to pitch more than 5 innings in. I opted to not take any bait on Max Fried vs Ranger Suarez and same with Triston McKenzie. I will definitely expect one of the games in those big series to be a pitchers duel with the PHi-ATL potential for tonight to be there, but I just don’t see it with both pitchers today. Although Fried is GOOD vs Philly. ROBBIE RAY Here is a pitcher who will give you a win, strike out 8 batters and costs under 1k. Here lies Robbie Ray after dark. LUCAS GIOLITO Just like his teammates, it looks like Giolito is happy to be free from Tony La Russa, and might actually start pitching well down the final weeks of the season. JOSIAH GRAY Young pitchers in September is half the equation here although Gray has been up long enough now that the coffee is more of an Iced Coffee, but the Marlins offense should still give him a 6+ strikeout game. [spacer height=”10px”] It’s a shame the Royals go to Fenway now that it is colder out, that’s a park that team always hits well in no matter who is in the uniform. No stadium has a big weather boost for offense today but also nobody has a major downgrade. It’s just ‘nice’ out so lets see…...
