The Dongers Club – Tue, Oct 6th

We are assured have having two back to back days of four game slates as there are no days off for the second round of the MLB Playoffs.  Both DK and FD have nice contests out there as well for the slate which locks at 2 PM today.

Today’s Games

Miami vs Atlanta in Minute Maid Park (Houston)

Houston vs Oakland in Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles)

NY Yankees vs Tampa Bay in Petco Park (San Diego)

San Diego vs LA Dodgers in Globe Life Dome (Texas)

Weather

We had a very profitable day following the weather in the two American League games yesterday.  It won’t be as easy of an automatic play today due to the start time and not being so insanely hot in both games.  The roof in Arlington is likely OPEN tonight which helps hitters in the Padres/Dodgers series.

PITCHING PLAYS

Deivi Garcia (Yankees)

A quick hook is certainly a concern in this game but we have four divisional match-ups today which means the hitters know the pitchers in every game — except this one.  Tampa has not seen Garcia and he has generated a high 36% swing rate at pitches outside of the zone.  That’s the type of stat which tells me teams need to see him to learn him and know him — especially left handed heavy teams like the Rays who will be tempted to try and jump on him.  While everyone runs to Glasnow for strikeouts in this game, watch Garcia out perform him.

Walker Buehler (Dodgers)

This is not a smash spot for Buehler but there’s very few pitchers that I expect to dominate today and I’ll ride the worst hitting park on the slate with the better pitcher in the game.

Max Fried (Atlanta)

Fried really stepped up for the Braves this season when Mike Soroka went down with a season ending injury and he is someone who gets a lot of weak contact and keeps the ball in the ground very well.  This Marlins team likely does not hit him extremely hard today despite being a favorable park for a few of their RH hitters.  I wouldn’t project him to have a high number of strikeouts but I would trust him on a two pitcher site like DraftKings today.

LINEUPS TO TARGET

Houston Astros

Jose Altuve – George Springer – Kyle Tucker

I have no idea why the Athletics, a team who is based upon data, are rolling out a tall lefty today against the Astros down 0-1 in the series.  Not to mention Sean Manaea is absolute garbage and don’t read me some data about him having some good starts against them historically.  Houston is locked in right now and they have all the great memories they need playing in L.A. and with no fans they’re living in cloud nine right now.  What else is more predictable right now than Houston winning this series, then facing the Yankees and then facing the Dodgers in the World Series?  Play Kyle Tucker.

Atlanta Braves

This should be a really fun series that I expect to go five games and have lots of lead changing 2 run homers in it.  I know I mentioned Max Fried above as a second pitcher on DK because I think he can give the Braves some depth and limit hard contact, but a righty Marlin or two wouldn’t kill you today either.  For Atlanta, Freeman is on a mission, however Austin Riley and Dansby Swanson are going to have themselves a heck of a series.
