Week 13 – MNF/TuNF Primetime

Special circumstance with Monday and Tuesday having prime-time games and rather than trying to do two showdown spots I’d prefer to combine them into one.   Weather is likely to be an issue in both games as the game tonight (Monday) is going to feature rain and wind early but there’s a good chance it tapers off by the time the game rolls around.  It actually won’t be that cold either so I doubt the weather plays too much of an issue for the whole game.

The game on Tuesday, however, looks like it will have snow and wind.  So while it kind of sucks that we lost out on a Thanksgiving night game, we are being rewarded with an island Tuesday snow game.  How awesome is that?  Heck, it’s even going to feature RGIII!

Seahawks vs Eagles

The Eagles will be able to shut down Lockett because Darius Slay in my mind can run with him when he gets match-ed up on him, but he won’t be able to shut down DK Metcalf as easily.  Lock in Metcalf for the showdown slate and consider fading Lockett.  On the two game slate, Lockett is definitely a fade for me.  Chris Carson returns but it’s not a great match-up as the Eagles rush defense is just too good to expect a HUGE game from Carson the ground — but Seattle does throw it less on the road historically.

Lots of talk about how the Eagles offense is in shambles and Carson Wentz just doesn’t know how to play football right now.  This smells like a get back to basics/fundamentals spot for the Eagles and getting to restore confidence against a bad Seattle defense should help.  The Eagles offensive line has been a problem all year and will once again be rolling out some guys you’ve never heard of tonight, so that to me helps limit the upside of one Miles Sanders but on the short two game slate, not many guys are better at RB than him — so lock him in but don’t consider him the captain play.

Seattle wins 23-20

Ravens vs Steelers

This game might finally play and should be a complete train wreck — but chances are it’s an all out aerial attack by the Steelers.  The Ravens rush defense has actually been a weak spot of late but Pittsburgh won’t bother running the ball a ton and without Conner there’s even less desirable options there anyways.  Big Ben is probably in line to throw three or four touchdowns so he’s our QB and until Diontae Johnson stops getting WR1 target volume we continue to load him up.  James Washington though is the must own on Showdown.

The challenge on the Ravens side is what the heck do you do.  RGIII likely is a showdown consideration, but for the love of God do not consider him in the captain spot — just don’t.  No Andrews, no Snead, No Ingram, no Dobbins, no Lamar….   Just no Ravens.

Steelers win in a laugher 35-3
