Carolina vs Nashville – PPD due to COVID-19 tonight.

STACKS

There are four teams I really have interest in today.  It’s not a HUGE slate by any stretch but it’s one with lots of good spots to look at.

NEW YORK RANGERS

Mika Zibanejad – Chris Kreider – Adam Fox

The Rangers are going to get it going into an explosive 7-5 type game soon and welcoming in the Devils seems like a nice spot to consider the top line.  With New York having played the strong defensive Islanders their first two games, they’re in a great buy low spot against the poor Devils defense.  Only Zibanejad is going to cost you a lot stacking NYR1 and I like the value of Adam Fox in a power play correlation from the blue line.

Correlate with:  Kyle Palmieri (NJD)

WINNIPEG JETS

Mark Scheifele – Nikolaj Ehlers – Blake Wheeler

Winnipeg will be on a B2B tonight after playing in Toronto on Monday and if I had more faith in the Senators offense I’d say this could be a spot the Jets lose, but they’re much better in the top 6 in my opinion and this top line should have their way with the Senators.

WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Nick Backstrom – TJ Oshie – Alex Ovechkin – John Carlson

The Caps are playing a more traditional double-header as they have many times done this with Pittsburgh in the past.  The obvious difference this time is that both games are in Pittsburgh with the Penguins winning in a shootout on Sunday.  One of these games we’re gonna get the Kuzy double goal game, but I would focus on stacking the top line for the Caps if you want a stack to roll with.  Kuzy would be the one off.

CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS

Dylan Strome – Patrick Kane – Alex DeBrincat (PP1)

The Blackhawks are just bad.  Giving up 5 goals in each of your first three games certainly doesn’t bode well for any confidence but they’ll have DeBrincat and Kane together on the same top line and I am just not quite ready to crown the Panthers a top defensive team to avoid stacking against.  There’s a lot of logic in this game to stack the top lines on both teams as Barkov has two wingers who are virtually free with him, but Kane and DeBrincat for Chicago to me have the most upside to win tournaments today.

Of note, Sergei Bobrovsky will be back and in goal tonight for Florida, it hampers my Chicago love a little bit.

POSITIONAL ONE OFFS

CENTERS

Mika Zibanejad (NYR)

Aleksander Barkov (FLA)

Mark Scheifele (WPG)

Jack Hughes (NJD) – Value, consider pairing in a game stack with Palmieri as well.

WINGS

Patrick Kane (CHI) / Alex DeBrincat (CHI) … Love DeBrincat for his price today

Mikko Rantanen (COL)

Blake Wheeler (WPG)

Cam Atkinson (CBJ) … Welcome to probably a tilting Blue Jackets night.  I like Cam, Boone Jenner and Bjorkstrand and all three are on different FS lines.

Claude Giroux (PHI)

Kyle Palmieri (NJD)

DEFENSE

Adam Fox (NYR)

Adam Boqvist (CHI) .. D vs Florida!

Kris Letang (PIT) … Take Letang over Carlson in this game.

Seth Jones (CBJ)

GOALIES

This might be the worst goalie slate of the season and it only took us one week to get here.  Fun times!   I would correlate goalie with skaters today for the win.

Jonathan Bernier (DET) … Cheap and should face a ton of shots.

Elvis Merzlikins (CBJ) … The chalk play.

Calvin Peterson (LA) … Contrarian vs Colorado chalk

SLAP … SHOTS!

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT:    Scheifele – Wheeler – Ehlers (WPG)

ONE OFF STUD:     Mika Zibanejad (NYR)

ONE OFF VALUE WINGER:      Cam Atkinson (CBJ)

TOP DEFENSE-MAN:     Seth Jones (Columbus) & Chicago Defenseman

GPP FADE TEAM OF THE NIGHT:     Pittsburgh & Colorado

FAVORITE BETS:

  • Devils / Rangers OVER 6
