CJ Cup (NOT AT Nine Bridges)
I’m limited on time this week folks, so I’m giving you my favorites in each group as well as at least one fade from each. It’s a little different I know, but this swing part of the season is different as well. The Vegas Swing is a pretty cool thing though. This is usually a decent field so we should have viable options in each price range.
$10,000 and Above
- Dustin Johnson ($11,300) – On fire at Ryder Cup! Will it translate at this price?
- Justin Thomas ($11,100) – Hasn’t won on Tour in a while
- Xander Schauffele ($10,600)
Note: I rarely like to go with guys in this range and I’m leery this week as well since so many good players exist at much lower prices.
$9,000 to $9,900
- Sam Burns ($9,800) – No one can argue with the quality of this guys play right now!
- Louis Oosthuizen ($9,300) – I always like Louis! Word of caution though. Every time I pick Louis, he seems to flirt with withdrawing. I don’t think it happens this week.
- Viktor Hovland ($9,900) – He’s one of the most consistent players I’ve seen.
$7,500 to $8,900
- Marc Leishman ($8,600) – I think the old Marc Leishman may be back.
- Adam Scott ($8,100) – He’s basically making every cut. Contending for a win? No, but at this price, we don’t need a win. DJ, JT and Xander? Yep! A win would be preferred.
- Justin Rose ($7,900)
$7,400 and Under
- Joaquin Niemann ($7,400)
- Harold Varner III ($7,300)
- Aaron Wise ($7,400)
- TALOR GOOCH ($7,200) – He is probably my favorite here. T4 and T11 in his last two events. At $7,200, that is INSANE return.
- Ian Poulter ($6,900) – Yes, the “bromance” continues! He let me down last week, but he usually rebounds. Now, if he misses the cut again this week, we may need to rethink our relationship!
LONGSHOTS: Charl Schwartzel ($6,100), Mackenzie Hughes ($6,100), Jhonattan Vegas ($6,300) & Sung Kang ($6,100)
This category leaves a lot of room for you to get higher priced guys (sometimes 2 or 3 depending on your risk tolerance) in your lineups. There are a lot of guys playing well right now and playing more that the top tier guys. Golf is repetition! Playing makes you a better player!

$7,500 to $8,900: Patrick Reed ($8,000)
$7,400 and Below: NONE – Have at it!
