Overview

It’s Christmas day and we’re given the gift of two NFL games. One starts at 4:30 eastern and the other at 8:30 eastern. With a limited player pool, much like we had on Tuesday night with two games, I’ll be touching on some of my core plays for three, five, and 20 max tournaments.

My Core Plays

QB Aaron Rodgers (GB)

Rodgers has been a man on a mission over his last four games posting 23.82, 32.64, 29.28, and 36.50 DK points in those four contests. He’ll take on a Browns squad that has been strong against the pass overall this season with a strong pass rush to deploy. With that being said, Cleveland is coming off a very short week (having just played on Tuesday) and as mentioned above Rodgers has been a man possessed. I’ll hitch onto Rodgers in the majority of my lineups today.

RB Jonathan Taylor (IND)

There’s nothing sneaky here but more often than not I’ll take the obvious play and just run with it, no pun intended. Taylor has surpassed the 115-yard rushing mark in five of his last six games with the one outlier being an 83-yard effort against a more-than stout Tampa Bay rush defense. Taylor has found the end zone in 11 straight games with multiple scores on five occasions.

RB Nick Chubb (CLE)

It’s a short week after handling 23 carries for Chubb and a middling matchup as the Packers have shown flashes of stopping the run this season. Regardless I love the idea of rostering the former Georgia Bulldog in what could prove to be a low ownership level. Assuming that most will lean on Taylor above along with Davante Adams at receiver, there’s only so much salary to allot to these players. I’ll still have more Taylor than Chubb but I’ll find a way to get the latter in a boatload of lineups and will even have some with both standout ball carriers.

WR Davante Adams (GB)

It’s hard to discuss this two-game which has the Packers on it without mentioning Adams, the target hog of the league. Despite some talent at the corner position for the Browns, there is no matchup that’ll make me shy away from who many feel is the best receiver in the league. He and Rodgers’ chemistry is unmatched and they’ve both been rolling over the last four games.

WR Christian Kirk (ARI)

Kirk has had the eye of Kyler Murray in the absence of Deandre Hopkins, specifically last week with 12 targets resulting in nine receptions for 94 yards. There’s a lot of value in the Cardinals’ offense highlighted by Kirk who should play close to every snap this week as he did last. The Colts’ defense has allowed 30 or more DK points to receivers in two of its last four games.

WR Jarvis Landry (CLE)

After quarantining Landry will be eligible to play on Saturday and the Browns can use him. He and quarterback Baker Mayfield will return suggesting that we could see close to double-digit targets as we’ve seen for Landry in his last two games.

TE Josiah Deguara (GB)

While there’s nothing flashy about Deguara, he’s cheap in a good matchup on a slate with a lot of high-priced talent. The Browns have allowed double-digit DK points to the tight end position in each of their last 10 games. At $2,800 he’s a real salary saver and someone that saw five targets last week.
