CBB DFS – January 20th

Late night Thursday CBB DFS action as we have our typical dose of PAC-12 action on this Thursday as well as exposure to the Zags, a Purdue/Indiana battle in the Big 10 and everyone’s favorite the Mustangs of SMU vs the Tigers of Memphis.

Let’s dive in …

SMU vs Memphis

  • Kendric Davis (SMU) is expensive but this sets up for a perfect 2&1 gamestack with him as the primary option for the Mustangs.  He is playing 35+ minutes, has a 27%+ usage rate and PG have done well when facing the fast Tigers.
  • Michael and Marcus Weathers both are priced where they can have 5x return games for the Mustangs and I like them a good deal.
  • Memphis is a bit harder to lock in on one player but Josh Minott and Emoni Bates are guys that I just cannot see failing to hit value at pretty affordable prices.  We want bigs vs SMU, so Jalen Duran figures to have a chance for a ceiling game here as well.  You will need 2 Tigers in any lineup built today.

Washington vs Oregon State

  • Also a good late night stack game, high total with a close spread and two defenses that are soft enough to exploit.
    • Huskies:  Daejon Davis, Emmitt Matthews
    • Beavers:  Warith Alatishe, Jarod Lucas

UCLA vs Utah

  • I like this game a good amount today and think it’s a favorable game stack.
  • UCLA is back in a good rhythm winning 3 of 4 after the New Year and scoring 80+ in their last two.  Johnny Juzang and Cody Riley would be the primary players but I don’t mind Tyger Campbell either.
  • UTAH is where the slate winners could come from, Rollie Worster and Lazar Stefanovic

Purdue vs Indiana

  • This has Zach Edey foul trouble all over it tonight.  If he can avoid the fouls then he will continue to be a 4x machine inside for Purdue.
  • I believe that if a team wants to beat Purdue they actually have to go small on them and out run/score the Boilermakers, that would have to come through Xavier Johnson and Rob Phinisee but they really aren’t good enough in my mind to get it done.
  • Purdue has turned the corner and is back on track.  I know this is a Big 10 home dog scenario, but I will lay the three with Purdue and avoid a heavy stack in DFS.

HIGH END

Kendric Davis – SMU

This tier is not where the juice is today, but if we have a core centered around that SMU/Memphis game then I would prefer to take the Alpha for the Mustangs in Kendric Davis.

  1. Johnny Juzang – UCLA
  2. Trayce Jackson-Davis – Indiana
  3. Adama Sanogo – UCONN

MID RANGE

Jarod Lucas – Oregon State

Second favorite game stack is the OrSt/Washington game late tonight.  Should remain close with both teams offering favorable stacks.  Jarod Lucas is the top play on the model and it’s a tough 3point match-up but if he can hit 2 of them as per his average then we’ll be good getting him into the 20’s again.

  1. Khalil Shabazz – San Francisco
  2. Daejon Davis – Washington … High steal rate should factor into things today, he along with Lucas and Shabazz are my overall 3 top CORE plays.
  3. Emmitt Matthews – Washington
  4. Boogie Elliss – USC
  5. Rollie Worster – Utah
  6. Marcus Weathers – SMU

VALUE

Emoni Bates – Memphis

  1. Josh Minott – Memphis
  2. Cody Riley – UCLA
  3. Justin Kier – Arizona
  4. Nate Roberts – Washington

Khalil Shabazz - Men's Basketball - University of San Francisco AthleticsKhalil Shabazz – San Francisco – $6,200

Shabazz is averaging over 32 fantasy points per game the past month, he is carrying a 26% usage rate for the Dons and as I mentioned above takes a ton of 3 pointers, so in a game where the Dons should get more possessions than usual he figures to find a way to 30 points yet again.
