My Core Plays
QB Joe Burrow (CIN)
Rather than looking at the chalky options such as Josh Allen ($7,600), Patrick Mahomes ($7,300, and even Aaron Rodgers for the most part ($7,100) I’m looking at Burrow in a great matchup at just $6,600. Tennessee has had it’s issues in the secondary this season while being stout against the run. In my estimation, if the Bengals are to win this game they’ll have to do so on the arm of Burrow who has thrown multiple touchdowns in each of his last three games played. The Titans have allowed 35 or more fantasy points to the wide receiver position in four of it’s last six games with two of those opponents being the Texans and Jaguars. Burrow has multiple touchdowns and a 300-plus-yard upside in a game that I think is hotly contested throughout.
RB Devin Singletary (BUF)
Since I’m fading Josh Allen in most cases I’ll look to Singletary for some exposure to Buffalo’s offense in a game that I think the Bills win. Singletary has had 16, 19, and 23 carries in his last three games and it’s clear that he’s the main back for Buffalo moving forward through these playoffs. There’s always the fear that Allen vultures carries away at the goal line but for the price ($5,900) he’s involved in the offense enough to negate giving up some carries in my opinion.
WR Tee Higgins (CIN)
I have to believe that Mike Vrabel who for my money is one of the best coaches in the game will do everything he can to limit Ja’Marr Chase. Whether or not that can be done or to what extent is the question. Regardless I’ll be looking to Higgins after a poor showing last week against the Raiders – Burrow was simply able to get the ball to Chase whenever he wanted along with C.J. Uzomah making Higgins the odd man out; even Tyler Boyd found the end zone. There’s a chance that Higgins is my highest owned player across my lineups for the slate and the price is right at $5,700.
TE Travis Kelce (KC)
With the value I’m finding in a lot of my lineups I’m looking to pay up at the tight end position with Travis Kelce. It’s Kelce mainly for me at the position with some value options sprinkled in otherwise but the production of late and historically against this Bills teams makes Kelce impossible for me to overlook. The all-pro has five touchdowns in his last three games overall against Buffalo and has found the endzone in four straight games (five total) overall. Seven, five, and seven targets are what Kelce has seen in his last three games and he went over 100 yards last week against Pittsburgh. On the surface, Buffalo has been good against the position with a strong defense in the middle of the field which leads me to believe that Kelce could go slightly overlooked in the ownership department on Saturday.
D/ST Los Angeles Rams
While they’ve underwhelmed at times this Rams defense has shown that they can get after the quarterback and force turnovers. L.A. has turned its opposing quarterback over in six straight games grabbing multiple interceptions three times during that stretch. They have multiple sacks in seven straight games and will be going after Tom Brady behind an already shorthanded offense now dealing with injuries on the offensive line. I think the Rams give Brady and company fits all game.
