With Leonard Fournette ruled out on Saturday, I’m looking to Brady as my core quarterback in a game that I think will be closer than most think with Tampa leaning on the arm of Brady who’s 34 and 13 in his career in the playoffs. The Eagles are thin in the secondary outside of Darius Slay and despite missing Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown going off the deep end, Brady still has other weapons in the passing game to get the job done and I think his ownership is significantly lower than some of the other options.
RB Elijah Mitchell (SF)
First of all, I think San Francisco beats Dallas and I’ve thought so all week which is becoming more of a popular opinion. Mitchell has back-to-back games with 21 carries and it’s no secret that Kyle Shanahan goes out of his way to scheme and establish the run. I think that emphasis is magnified here on the road and I expect Mitchell to find the endzone and wouldn’t be surprised to see him do so twice.
WR Tyreek Hill (KC)
While Hill has not been his explosive self on a regular basis this season there’s still time for him to redeem himself in a good matchup. Looking at the landscape of the slate it seems as if the popular Chiefs will be running back Darrel Williams and tight end Travis Kelce. That’s not to say that Hill will be overlooked completely, this is a three-game slate, however, but combining the lack of ownership he’ll have with the game-breaking upside he brings, Hill is extremely appealing. Kansas City should come out firing in a matchup they should handle while hopefully getting Hill involved in a big way.
WR Cedric Wilson (DAL)
Wilson has seen six targets in each of his last two games with Michael Gallup out for the season and has three touchdowns over that span. There’s still a ton of value to go along with Wilson despite the production he’s enjoyed and while San Francisco’s secondary is weak in general, they’re especially weak at the slot corner spot.
TE Rob Gronkowski (TB)
This is feeling more and more like the chalk play of the week but it makes too much sense to ignore. Philadelphia has been brutal against tight ends and with the Bucs depleted of weapons, Brady will likely look to Gronk as he has over the past two weeks. In those two games, Gronk has 10 targets in each contest with seven receptions in each while surpassing 100 receiving yards on both occasions.
D/ST San Francisco 49ers
Outside of Wilson highlighted above there are no Cowboys that I particularly want to roster in this matchup. This feels more and more like a letdown spot for Dallas at home who have been susceptible to the home mishap this season. In their last two games, the 49ers have forced three turnovers and they’ve had at least three sacks in each of their last six games. Dallas’ offensive line isn’t what it once was and San Fran, despite being weak in the secondary has a strong front seven that could cause havoc on Dallas’ offense all game.
