This is a really good College Basketball Slate. Less of a game stack slate and more of a spread it out across 3-4 games slate.
So for that reason, the article flows a little differently today. We dive into the CORE overall top plays on the slate to consider, then we cover the CORE 4, the Onions! Play and the Bets and then we list out some game stacks for you multi-lineup people.
High End ($$$)
James Akinjo – Baylor – $8,100
I never trusted North Carolina to make it here and they should absolutely have no chance of keeping Akinjo from lighting them up. In fact, Baylor is a team I do not have going deep at all but this is a perfect spot for them, we’re laying the 5.5, we’re locking in Akinjo at $8,100 since NC is bad vs PG and probably correlating him with Flo Thamba who is going to shutdown Armando Bacot.
Drew Timme – Gonzaga – $7,800
Timme is a man on a mission and when Georgia State kept things close in round one he finally helped spark the Zags and made sure that one was an easy cover for them. Look for more of the same today and he is the main reason I picked the Zags to win it all. Memphis has nobody who will shut him down and is going to be bothered with trying to stop Chet Holmgren. Gonzaga welcomes the pace and Timme should drop another 40+ today.
JD Notae – Arkansas – $7,900
Alpha status engage for JD Notae. This is a very tricky spot for the Razborbacks and the top game to consider paying up on both sides in. They will be tested, which means late game shot attempts from Notae.
Kennedy Chandler – Tennessee – $7,400
If the Vols keep playing fast and hot they will run Michigan out of the gym. Chandler is locked in.
Jacob Gilyard – Richmond – $7,600
The other guys in the same price range probably grade out better than Gilyard today, who has a nice little 5’9 vs 5’10 battle with Jared Bynum for part of this game. But overall I expect this to be a little lower scoring than recent Richmond games and Gilyard will finish right at 32-33 points.
Mid Range ($$)
Grant Golden – Richmond – $6,300
It’s Golden. It’s his day. It just hit me like a ton of bricks falling down the mountain and splashing into the water. Golden has been up and down most of the season and is coming off a game in which he just didn’t score a ton. This is a slower tempo game which really benefits him and Nate Watson won’t be extending out enough to cover him which is going to result in Golden dropping 10 points real before halftime on his way to a 20 & 10 game. He will carry Richmond today.
Stanley Umude – Arkansas – $6,200
Top game to stack today and Umude is your anchor in this stack to not disappoint. Even though Notae is likely the 40/50 point upside guy the benefit with Umude is he will give us enough of the complimentary stats to produce.
Arthur Kaluma – Creighton – $5,700
Usage should increase with Kalkbrenner out.
Value Range ($)
Keyshawn Feazell – Creighton – $3,000
The injury to Ryan Kalkbrenner should open up a lot of minutes for min priced Feazell who is a Senior big man that is next in line for a team which doesn’t utilize a deep bench.
Darryl Banks – Saint Peters – $4,600
Dajuan Harris – Kansas – $4,800
Alex Lomax – Memphis – $5,300

The Onions! play is my favorite play on the slate to have a 6x or better game.

New Mexico State vs Arkansas
NM State will keep it close with the Razorbacks and out of all the big boom potential games this one is near the top for me.

Memphis vs Gonzaga
Memphis as we know plays fast and Gonzaga is never shy about trying to outscore you either. I dont think Memphis is going to be able to really push the Zags for 40 minutes however if they do it means Landers Nolley was raining threes or Jalen Duren was showing that he too is a top NBA draft prospect. One of them MUST have a huge game for Memphis to stay in this one.

Michigan vs Tennessee
The Volunteers continue to play really damn good Basketball and until that stops we should consider stacking their games. Which, of course means that when/if that stops they will be out so we’re basically stacking the Vols in a second lineup from here on out.
Frankie Collins will get his 2nd start for Michigan and I am very curious if he is chalk. Outside of a game stack he is a fade.

Richmond vs Providence
Gut opinion. Spiders lose a close game or win by 10. Either way, neither team is scoring 70 points, but in a close game scenario you can stack this game because the possessions will help build up with rebounds/steals/etc.
