A big Thursday night slate means we have lots of new series which will be 4-gamers over the weekend. The only carry over tonight is between St. Louis and Atlanta who are finishing up their series today.
There are also ZERO senior citizen slate games tonight as well which is great news.
Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are playing TWO games today, with the second on the DraftKings Main Slate but not on FanDuel’s Main Slate. So when the Pirates decide to defecate the purity of Baseball by bringing in a position player and he gives up 4 homers again you can watch your DraftKings chances fly out the window.
Round 2 of the Dongers Club Contest is tomorrow and the article will be up by 2PM.

WEATHER
All clear
[spacer height=”20px”]

Monday, proven arms who are chalk (Rodon, Manaea, Manoah) got lit up.
Tuesday, pitchers who aren’t very good but are chalky (Kikuchi, Howard, Quantrill) got lit up.
Wednesday, chalk pitchers of all sorts, those pitching above their pay grade (Javier, Cobb) and the Donkey Chalk which was probably recommended by RGeeWhiz, WalkDirty, WhoEliteOrWhateverTheyAreCalled, LibTardTastik (Bello) got lit up.
So on Thursday …. ??
Well we have breakout players tonight with Cease, Gonsolin and Strider all being popular and all facing opponents that they could do very well with. We also have the proven commodities in Musgrove and Cole as well as the under-performing but still good Logan Webb.
I don’t look at others projections on ownership when doing analysis first but I can pretty much guess that Cease (9800) and Gonsolin (9400) are popular with Strider being the next trendy pick.
We ain’t touchin Strider with a 3 foot 28 inch pole my friends.

DYLAN CEASE
I have been a Cease mark all season and he has been to our benefit more than the negative. Tonight vs the Tigers he should have that peak game again. They’re a big swinging strike team vs sliders and with them winning 4 in a row I think we’ll get the overly aggressive Tigers tonight. 28 point game for Cease on DK tonight.
TREVOR WILLIAMS
The Mets have got Max Scherzer back and soon will have Jacob deGrom back as well, but they could still use a good start tonight from Williams. He normally would not be someone I am too heavy on with a RH team but the ballpark is greatly going to be his friend tonight.
The deal with Williams is this, even though his splits say he strikes out RHB and not LHB, he still gives up power to a good pull righty, but with the wind blowing in and big Citi Field behind him, he should avoid that pitfall tonight as Cooper and Avisail wind up taking him for a ride to the warning track and into the glove of Brandon Nimmo.
LOGAN WEBB
Webb vs Musgrove looks like a fantastic match-up on paper. Webb brings his 30% sinker rate vs San Diego which should do well even though most times when he has struggled this season have been with that pitch. It’s an Achilles heel for the Padres and he has Joc Pederson in PETCO on his side. Joe Musgrove has … Nomar Marazar. CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER….
I choose Webb.

OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS …
Cole vs the Red Sox who have been looking forward to this series for 10+ days. Haa-haa!
You go ahead and tell yourself that Jordan Lyles is getting a K boost tonight. I’ll go ahead and watch Mike Trout break out of his slump.
[spacer height=”20px”]

Let’s just get the obvious out of the way right now. Yankees vs Red Sox. No, not because of the actual teams. The ratings. The attention. The juiced balls. I’m just sayin….

TORONTO
A nice little home away from home series for the Jays in the upper northwest as they get Western Canada fans coming down into Seattle for a good late night series to watch on T.V. We should have bad pitching on both sides today with Marco Gonzales having to somehow figure out a way to not let George Springer hit a lead off homer.
Im thinking he won’t figure that out.
Springer, Bichette, Gurriel
BOSTON / Yanks
Devers last homer came on June 24th, he should be back in the line-up today and has great history against Cole in his favor. 11 mph winds out to left field and I think JD Martinez finally… Yes, finally, hits a home run when I tout him.
Devers, Martinez / Stanton, Torres
[spacer height=”20px”]
OTHER GAME THOUGHTS
White Sox – With Eloy and Pollock back in this lineup we should be watching for them to go on a tear. Problem is I’ve said that all year
Colorado – It’s Keuchel in Chase Field. The road team usually loves hitting in this series, so give me the Rockies to go off either tonight or tomorrow for sure.
St. Louis – Donovan / Gorman / Goldschmidt
Pit/Cin – No matter what happens in the first game between the Pirates and Reds, that game features high upside on both sides for one offs.
