WEATHER

OAK at WAS:  Stormy.  Lack of fans likely attending as well.  Godspeed Nationals….

LAD at NYM:  Light Rain, game likely plays.  Happy Cody Bellinger series.

Comerica Wind:  14 MPH out to Left Center.  Hello!

All else is clear

Kevin Gausman

Cubs have been better lately about not striking out but are still a weak lineup and still have Franmil Reyes, who should strike out 3 times tonight.

George Kirby

I can’t believe I like Kirby tonight, nor can I believe my model likes Kirby.  Well, yes I can.  If he can keep the ball down he will have a 9 strikeout dominant performance with a ton of run support.

Max Fried

This isn’t an elite Fried type spot today but it’s a very safe one.  Colorado should produce lots of ground ball outs for him.

Other pitching notes

The Fanduel pricing tonight is very good and anyone below say Lucas Giolito (who I don’t love but could have one of those 7 K, 5 ER games) is just not someone I want to even bother with.  Maybe Kutter Crawford could be a viable option for Boston (5500 on DK, 6400 on FD) but he’s more of a SP2 type with a limited ceiling.

Cole Irvin has not been as good away from Oakland

Taijuan Walker is the type of guy who shows up in a big spot, has certainly had some nice spots vs the Dodgers historically but rain, wind out to right and some Dodgers hitting well in Citi Field have me off him.

Erick Fedde Erick Fedde and blah.

[spacer height=”10px”]

Seattle Mariners

J-Rod, Winker, Haniger, Frazier

Tigers young pitcher Matt Manning has had a fine second half to the season, but the Mariners are better than his last two opponents (SF/LAA) and come in with a bunch of hitters who are solid fastball and slider hitters.

If they can knock him out and get some bad Tigers pen, the Mariners will score 10+ tonight.

[spacer height=”10px”]

Boston Red Sox

Xander, Story, Devers, Verdugo

Hello, this is me chasing a team I think should rake in Target Field.  Nothing more, nothing less.

[spacer height=”10px”]

Atlanta Braves

Harris, Riley, Olson, d’Arnaud

Shocked to see Ronnie Acuna sitting tonight as Jose Urena, the man who has plunked him twice, is coming into Atlanta.

Urena had a nice start to his time with the Rockies but has massively come back to earth recently.  His sinker should not be able to get by Michael Harris batting 2nd, Austin Riley doubling him home and TDA cleaning them up afterwards.

Team I want to stack … but wont

Toronto Blue Jays

There is no scenario in which Marcus Stroman going back into Toronto doesn’t either end with him giving up 6 runs in the third inning or throwing a no hitter through 7.

But Toronto is just a tough team to stack.  With Bichette hitting 6th, Teoscar up and down and Vlad nearly 6k it’s hard to bite on this team in a stack scenario.  One offs only and good luck picking the right one.
