Stacks That I Have My Eye On
Below I’ll break down the particular stacks I’m interested and delve into it based on matchup, ability, predicted game script, and collective salary while picking an opposing player or two to run that stack back with if appropriate. *Note: All pricing is DraftKings focused
Kansas City Chiefs (at Arizona Cardinals)
QB Patrick Mahomes, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, TE Travis Kelce In one of the more chalky games that should explode, this version of a stack will not fool anyone so let’s get that out of the way. Mahomes returns along with Kelce minus Tyreek Hill. However, the Chiefs have retooled with some new weapons, one of which is Smith-Schuster. Despite not being the deep threat that Hill is, JuJu is a strong receiver in the middle of the field and another weapon to free up some space in that area for Kelce. Also, in spots where Kelce is doubled or bracketed, JuJu will have plenty of room to operate in a high-powered offense. Run it Back: WR Marquise Brown Hollywood arrives in Arizona as the defacto number one receiver, at least for now with Deandre Hopkins out. Brown finds himself in a great offense with a coach who loves to run a ton of plays and a quarterback who loves to let the ball fly.[spacer height=”13px”]
Chicago Bears
QB Justin Fields, WR Darnell Mooney While I’m pretty fixated on paying up at tight end in Week 1 (Kelce, Mark Andrews, Darren Waller) Cole Kmet could be another passing target to consider. Despite not having a high-powered offense on paper, the Bears are going to have to score to keep up in this game. The Bears no longer have Allen Robinson or really any wide receivers to speak of other than Mooney, who already had a high-target share. Run it Back: RB Elijah Mitchell I don’t expect the Bears to win this game but I do expect it to be a close outcome as the Bears try to fight back most of the day. If that script holds true, we’ll see a good amount of work for Mitchell who has shown to be a bell cow when healthy.[spacer height=”13px”]
