Thoughts on tonight’s slate…
Teams on B2B: None
My mind recalls that early in the NHL season we tend to have high scoring games and tonight every game has a total of 6 or higher which is pretty unique for a slate that has nine games on it. Plenty of pay up teams as well such as Toronto, Florida, Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington, Colorado and Carolina.

Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs are getting the Coyotes who are just god awful. The ‘Yotes are opening hte season on a six game road trip where they have allowed six goals in each of the first two games. Who else kind of senses a trend with this team and 6’s right now. Given that their schedule now gets the Leafs and then Canadiens, Senators and Blue Jackets, one can safely assume they probably aren’t winning a game until they go home and they’re probably gonna keep allowing 5+ goals each night.
For a unique perspective, I wouldn’t mind rolling down into the 3rd or even 4th line from Toronto if you have a 4+ or 5+ man Toronto stack.

New York Rangers
The Rangers look really damn good to me and are gonna be a team we back a lot. They should be able to control the puck most of the night vs the Ducks and I would expect an under-priced second line to produce good DFS value.
On the other side, the Ducks are pretty cheap but I would only go with a one off here or there such as John Klingberg ($3800) or Ryan Strome ($3500)

KEY ONE OFFS
Mark Scheifele – Jets
Death. Taxes. Me recommending Scheifele against Dallas.
Center is pretty strong today, but most of the centers that you would look to lock in on (AM34, Malkin, Kuznetsov) should be looked at as correlation plays. Scheifele certainly with Ehlers or Conner makes sense but from a $ perspective I wouldn’t start with the full line on an optimal lineup. Scheifele to score a goal and have an assist though should pay off well.
Kiril Kaprizov – Wild
Love the Wild’s star winger vs the Avs today. If we are gonna back dogs early in the season it should be home dogs and the Wild probably don’t win without a two goal effort from him tonight.
Artemi Panarin – Rangers
The bread man has been a points machine so far through three games with a goal and 5 assists. Sub $6k on a slate where I don’t see us needing to jam in high priced wingers is a great CORE starting point tonight.
Jeff Petry – Penguins
I like a little revenge narrative just like the next guy and Petry is returning to Montreal in a great spot tonight.

Jonathan Quick (Kings)
The Red Wings are banged up and just not as good as the Kings. This is a great spot to target goalies IMO and this game is a spot I would do the rare thing and endorse an under 6.5 bet in as well
Igor Shesterkin (Rangers)
Anaheim is gonna play fast enough to get his save chances up and Igor should be good enough to not give up any soft goals.
Marc-Andre Fleury (Wild)
I like an upset for the Wild to beat the Avs on home ice tonight. MAF is capable of standing on his head and would be a little good leverage here as well.
