Bowl season is finally here. Lots of betting and some DFS action to get involved with. Many slates will be short like this one is, so the analysis is going to be brief and more of just giving out picks for us to track and have some winning fun with.
One of my new favorite traditions is just reading up on the new marketing around each of the Bowl games.
Today we have the Duluth Trading Cure Bowl in Orlando, Florida. This one honestly has a big whiff because all I can think of when I hear Duluth is Buck Naked. So I hereby submit a proposal to rename this to the Duluth Trading Buck Naked Bowl, sponsored by The Cure.
The Other game is the Bahamas Bowl, sponsored by HomeTown Lenders. Which is funny to me because who the hell calls the Bahamas their home town?
At any rate, no weather issues expected today.
Bahamas Bowl – Nassau, Bahamas
Miami (Ohio) vs UAB (-11), OU: 45
Every MAC team should be faded in any Bowl game this year. The MAC was horrible and is going to get absolutely steam rolled by their opponents.
While UAB wasn’t great this season either, they did play in a tougher conference and should win this game if they don’t spend all week chasing tail in the Bahamas.
Miami is most likely to turn the reigns over to Freshman QB Aveon Smith who saw action late in the season and just flat out sucked throwing the football. I could see a touchdown going to Mac Hippenhammer at some point in this game but not enough for me to bet Miami (OH) against a good pass defense from UAB
UAB RB DeWayne McBride is OUT.

UTSA vs TROY (1.5), OU: 55.5
This is the only Bowl game which features two conference champions against each other. How about ‘dem apples?
UTSA is 0-3 historically in Bowls, while Troy is looking for their first Bowl win under HC Jon Sumrall.
I love UTSA here. The Troy defense is pretty good across the board but the Frank Harris/Zakhari Franklin/Joshua Cephus trio should be enough to come out aggressive for the Road Runners.
Given the fast pace that UTSA plays at this is the obvious DFS stack spot on the short two game slate and Troy should be able to get a good effort from Kimani Vidal in the ground game, who is $5900 and likely to bounce back after a bad Championship Week performance from a DFS perspective.

- RB – Kevorian Barnes – 5200 … Coming off a huge game, good value here in a game stack.
Troy DFS
- QB – Gunnar Watson – 6300 … Should have to throw a good amount as Troy will be trailing IMO.
- RB – Kimani Vidal – 5900 … Averaged over 14 touches per game, working ahead of DK Billingsley and had 22 catches on the season.
- WR – Tez Johnson – 6100 … 21% target share, good deep threat for them.
- WR – RaeJae Johnson – 5300 .. Slight discount on Tez Johnson and has been just as productive of late.
