The Slapshot – Dec 29th

NHL DFS – The Slapshot

Lots and lots and lots of games tonight.

Teams on back to back:   Detroit (Road), Tampa Bay (Home), Montreal (Road)

ISLANDERS

Barzal – Bailey – Wahlstrom

Barzal really jumps off the page for me tonight, but if you wanted to attack the Columbus PK with Nelson or Lee from the second line that would be fine here as well.  Bottom line is that the Isles should be able to skate circles through and around the Blue Jackets defenseman tonight.

RED WINGS

Larkin – Rasmussen – Perron – Hronek

The Wings made the Penguins look a lot like a Matt Ryan team last night and now they get a gift on a back to back.  They get to play a team who not only hasn’t played in a while, they haven’t practiced or seen each other as a team since last Friday.  The extended break due to weather and the Christmas holiday puts Buffalo in a tough spot tonight and early in this game Detroit should be able to get an advantage.

MAPLE LEAFS

Matthews – Nylander – Brodie

Auston Matthews returning home narrative is the main play here.  William Nylander won’t have a 0 point night though if Matthews does his thing, so pair them together and find some cheap value on the Toronto defenseman to luck into an assist.

JETS

Dubois – Scheifele – Connor

Scheifele is long overdue for a goal and the Jets as a team feel long overdue for a 5+ goal night.  We have the perfect line correlation here as the PLD-Connor-Scheifele line will correlate at full strength and on the man advantage.

SHARKS

Couture – Barabanov – Meier

I can see the Sharks being a contrarian late night team tonight.  They have Hertl-Timo and Couture all available tonight and the Flyers certainly aren’t defending much lately.
