CBB DFS: The ONIONS – Feb 18th

Wake Forest at Miami (Fl)

Do you have that Miami to make the final 4 ticket in yet?  Because you should.  Might as well throw in Miami to win the ACC Tournament next month as well because this team is a veteran lineup who will cruise through the shitty ACC tournament when they get there.

  • Wake:  Andrew Carr, Cameron Hildreth
  • Miami:  Nijel Pack, Jordan Miller

Oklahoma State at TCU

Mike Miles Jr is back in action for TCU today, which is huge and so too is huge being home in the Big 12 at this point in the season.  Big edge for the Horned Frogs today.

  • Okla St:  Kalib Boone, Bryce Thompson/Caleb Asberry
  • TCU:  Mike Miles, JaKobe Coles

GUARDS

Our model is in love with Tyree Appleby today.  He has gone for 43-42-66-38 in recent games and has never had a flop 2x or worse game in the last 8 weeks.  I get it, he’s a fine play, but at $9600 when there are other options on his team I am considering that fade.

West Virginia basketball player Erik Stevenson lands NIL deal - On3

CORE PLAYS:

  • Erik Stevenson (WV) … His last three games have not exactly been stellar performances but then when you go through Iowa State, Texas and Baylor that can lead to some rough times.   He had 38.5 fpts vs Texas Tech on the road in late January and probably gets back into that range today.
  • Kyle Lofton (UF) … Lofton should get 30+ minutes and has enough usage and shot % to expect him to do well in a game that has a high projected tempo.

Others:

  1. Caleb Mills (FSU)
  2. DeVion Harmon (TT)
  3. Bryce Thompson (OKST)
  4. Nijel Pack / Jordan Miller (MIA) … Pack at 6900 gets the nod for me.   This isn’t a 5x type Miller game to use him in a one off.

FORWARDS

So everyone wants to pay for TJD when he is 11.5k and we have depth at Forward?  I’m not so sure you need to eat 50% chalk on a player who is that expensive as great as he has been.  I’ll take my chances with these other options.

Adama Sanogo - Men's Basketball - University of Connecticut Athletics

CORE PLAYS:

  • Adama Sanogo (UCONN) … Could be a great pivot for much cheaper than Trayce Jackson-Davis.  Not gonna get the 50, but I believe he can and should hit 38-42 points which is favorable at 9k.
  • Makhel Mitchell (ARK) … Where he lacks the usage everyone seeks, he’s gonna eat on the boards as Florida should not shoot very well today and is without Castelton

Others:

  1. Kalib Boone (OKST)
  2. Andrew Carr (Wake)
  3. Emmitt Matthews (WV)
  4. Ben Vander Plas (UVA)

VALUE

Jason Jitoboh – F – Florida – 3000

Without Colin Castelton available expect Florida forward Jason Jitoboh at $3,000 to be very popular as a punt play.  Going into a solid tempo game against Arkansas I would imagine he’ll be chalky if you just want to roster value chalk.

Devin McGlockton – F – Boston College – 3800

18% defensive rebounding rate but against a solid rebounding team.  He has committed 3+ fouls in 3 of his last 5 games despite not playing more than ~20 mins on average, so that ceiling is probably cut short by his own doings but we’re looking at a sub 4x guy in a favorable tempo spot.

Antonio Reeves – G – Kentucky – 5200

Reeves is your classic guy that’s been getting tons of minutes but either lights it up or does jack shit with it.  The 3 ball should be able to have success today, so lets bank on him doing enough against a good Vols defense.

Others:

  1. Ortega Oweh – G – Oklahoma – 4300
  2. Jou Toussaint – G – WV – 4200
  3. Jaeden Zackery – G – BC – 5100
  4. Caleb Asberry – G – OKST – 4800
