The Slapshot – Feb 6

NHL DFS – The Slapshot

We are returning from the NHL All-Star Break tonight and it’s nice to see a league where the players actually play and they want to get back to work instead of taking off 10 days for an all-star break.

Obviously though everyone’s had a few days off, so the timing could be a little bit off around the league but the legs should be fresh enough for plenty of SOG boosts tonight.

Over the break the Islanders acquired Bo Horvat from the Canucks and he will be centering the top line it appears allowing Barzal to solely play RW and JGP is their projected third line center.  They’ve been so bad offensively that it would likely figure that this little change helps them score 7 tonight or something wild.

LIGHTNING vs PANTHERS

Point, Kucherov, Hedman … Barkov, Lundell, Reinhart

Two teams that love to score on each other at will coming off a little break and very little travel here for those in the all-star game as well.  I like the Bolts more because the Panthers just aren’t a stout defense this season & we know Point-Kuch have that tournament winning upside, but Barkov’s been playing better late and his price is very ideal.

ISLANDERS

Nelson – Palmieri – Lee

Why not, right?   Horvat isn’t cheap himself and they’re on the road, so I lean the second line which the Nelson-Palmieri combination is likely to do work on the Flyers.

DUCKS / STARS

McTavish, Vatrano, Fowler

Hintz, Robertson, Pavelski

Among the options tonight this one probably generates some volume for netminders as very cheap John Gibson should see lots of SOG and Jake Oettinger is the heavy donkey favorite.  But among the games that go under the radar I see this one having the most upside.

CENTERS

  1. Aleksander Barkov
  2. Roope Hintz
  3. Brayden Point

WINGS

  1. Nikita Kucherov
  2. Matt Boldy

DEFENSE

  1. Cam Fowler … At this point I do not expect DK to ever change Fowler’s price and with the consistency that he has hit 5+ fantasy points getting that from a sub 5k defenseman every time he is on the slate is not a bad default option.
  2. Victor Hedman
  3. Jared Spurgeon
  4. Miro Heiskanen
