CBB DFS: The ONIONS – March 23rd – Sweet 16

Today and tomorrow I will go through all four games on each slate and then Saturday/Sunday will be very brief outlining a way to build a two game slate article with the BETS for each game in the Elite 8.

Below I am just listing the key player for each game.  I’ll rank game stack spots at the bottom in the Onions! section.

Michigan State vs Kansas State

I feel that this game could provide some of the best entertainment value on this slate if Michigan State shows up.  However, I do not believe Michigan State is going to do enough to hang around and make this the top game on the slate.

The Wildcats were my team at the start in this region to make the final 4, and I am not backing down now.  Gimme the Markquis Nowell show and load up on all the Keyontae Johnson you can get tonight.

  • Michigan State:  Joey Hauser – F – 7500
  • Kansas State:  Keyontae Johnson – F – 7900

Arkansas vs UCONN

Now to the game that probably gets lots of DFS articles talking about it today because both teams like to run.  But I also believe both teams are going to defend well here because they’re athletic and capable of doing such.

  • Arkansas:   Nick Smith – G – 5900
  • UCONN:   Alex Karaban – F – 6000

Florida Atlantic vs Tennessee

Good afternoon.  Good evening.  Good night Florida Atlantic.  You cannot play the way you have in the first two games and think you’ll beat Tennessee, even if Mr. tournament choke Rick Barnes finds a way to have his team play sluggish here.

  • FAU:  Nick Boyd – G – 5400 (Value only)
  • Tennessee:   Josiah Jordan James – G – 6300

Gonzaga vs UCLA

And now the game of the night.  Game of the tournament?  Game of the Sweet 16?  However you want to bill this one up, I still believe Drew Timme time is going to trump all in the tournament, but holy hell look at the 10k price tag on Jaime Jaquez and that’s an interesting decision for some tonight.

I’ll be taking the Zags, but they can’t win without Strawther, Watson, Bolton and Hickman contributing.  For a stack, pair Bolton and Watson up, for going solo play Timme.

  • UCLA:  (David Singleton – G – 5700 … Listed as questionable, expected to play)
  • Gonzaga:  Drew Timme – F – 8900

Key Three

(F) Keyontae Johnson – Kansas St – 7900

My favorite play tonight, he’s a little discount off Nowell and should tear up Michigan State interior defense.

(G) Nick Smith – Arkansas – 5900

This is a roll of the dice because Smith coming off just 16 MP versus Kansas and a bad game vs Illinois might appear as a dog house play to some.  But the Razorbacks will need guard depth and they’ll need Smith to create off the dribble today.  At this price in a good pace game I will roll those dice every time.

(F) Alex Karaban – UCONN – 6000

Much like Smith in the same game I am looking beyond the obvious first names on the Huskies side.  Yes, Jordan Hawkins looks good and Sonogo is going to get his, but it’s Karaban who can stretch the floor and should hit 20+ fpts.

Additional Guards

  1. Jordan Hawkins – UCONN – 6000
  2. Markquis Nowell – Kansas St – 9400
  3. Tyger Campbell – UCLA – 7900
  4. David Singleton – UCLA – 5700 ** Questionable **

Additional Forwards

  1. Joey Hauser – Michigan State – 7500
  2. Drew Timme – Gonzaga – 8900
  3. NaeQwan Tomlin – Kansas St – 6600

VALUE OPTIONS

  1. Rasir Bolton – Gonzaga – 4600
  2. Desi Sills – Kansas State – 5500
  3. Jahmai Mashack – Tenn – 4700
  4. Jordan Walsh – Arkansas – 5200

VALUE PUNT OPTIONS

  1. Uros Plavsic – Tennessee – 3700

RANKING THE GAME STACKS

Really 1-3 are all very close…

  1. Arkansas vs UCONN (Hawkins, Karaban, Davis, Smith)
  2. UCLA vs Gonzaga (Singleton, Campbell, Timme, Bolton)
  3. Michigan State vs Kansas State (Sills, Johnson, Aikens, Hauser)
  4. FAU vs Tennessee (Martin, Goldin, JJJ, Mashack)

TOP BETS

  • Kansas State ML
  • Tennessee -5.5
  • Gonzaga ML
  • 2 Team Teaser:  Arkansas +8.5 / Tennessee -1.5
