FAU vs Kansas State
Some folks thought these teams would lose in the first round? Here we are, we are riding what should be the focus game of the day even though UCONN/Gonzaga will no doubt trump this one for attention.
This is a good sneaky game stack on a 2 game slate, which is rare to say and I think both teams only know how to play one distinct way — especially FAU. They’ll want to be up tempo and ride the second half surge they had vs the Vols where they realized they can punch them in the mouth and just go deeper than teams think. Don’t expect a repeat for Brandon Weatherspoon who at $3800 is probably chalky for game log chasers. I would instead pivot back to our big man Vladislav Goldin (5600) or Bryan Greenlee (4200) for value from FAU.
In the end though Kansas state wins by about 8. Nowell is too damn hot and too damn good right now to not carry this team but it’ll be Keyontae and Desi who shine.

UCONN vs Gonzaga
Much like I’m not gonna pivot off my Kansas State final four pick, so too am I not gonna pivot off my Gonzaga pick to win the tournament and right now, that’s looking pretty solid if they can get past the Huskies.
If I am the Huskies I lean on the depth inside that I have. The Zags should be able to defend well against the UCONN guards, but inside I would attack Timme and try to make him exhausted defensively.

Key Three
Alijah Martin – FAU
Best mid range $ core player. He’s at enough of a discount off Davis that we rank him #1.
Markquis Nowell – Kansas State
Just no reason to be cute and fade him at this point, although in a full Kansas State game stack I get the logic that one guy cannot go off if you have 3-4 guys from the team. Just hard to ignore the best player in the tourney right now.
Donovan Clingan – UCONN
Top value pick. I am confident his minutes will continue and the 1-2 big man combo for the Huskies should be their approach to simply wear on Drew Timme. This opens things up for Clingan to haul in enough boards and put backs to hit decent value.
