It’s gonna be tough, even for me as a Saints fan, to keep this game on over the two Baseball games that are going on tonight.
Jacksonville
I expect Trevor Lawrence will try to play, but if he doesn’t the flow rides through the RB (Bigsby should get some run) and Evan Engram more. For the Jaguars, their defense should generate enough pressure that they warrant being used for sacks and maybe a defensive touchdown if you can get lucky there.
Offensively I think we gotta like Etienne and Ridley the most among the skill position guys with Bigsby being a value punt.
New Orleans
The Saints OL is really banged up and while they haven’t been good when healthy, you cannot sustain changes on the OL and just roll out an offensive masterpiece. This game is going to fall solely on the shoulders of Derek Carr and I would say that it’s more so his brain that is going to have to do the damage tonight. He should be smart to pepper Kamara in the short passing game, and one of these games the Saints will just stick to a consistent approach of riding Thomas and Kamara for the entire game. They did this for a drive vs Tampa Bay and it was their best drive of the game, and it needs to be Carr who takes the lead here in doing such.
Right now Olave is lost in space, he is in a major slump, Shaheed is a go route specialist and the Saints TE room is just Taysom and a couple passes to Foster Moreau with Juwan Johnson out.
I don’t care much about Jammal Williams returning, he is the #3 RB. The Saints offense tonight is very simple.
Carr, Kamara, Thomas and some Taysom mixed in. If you are bold, roll with Kendre Miller.
