The Slapshot – Nov 10th

SABRES

Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch, Rasmus Dahlin

If this winds up being one of those Buffalo 6 goal nights then I can’t see winning anything significant without some Thompson, Tuch, Skinner or Dahlin exposure.  Minnesota’s on a B2B and routinely giving up 4+ GA on nights.

KNIGHTS

Jack Eichel, Jonathan Marchessault, Ivan Barbashev, Alex Pietrangelo

Gotta keep picking on the Sharks even as they improve.  They’ll be on a B2B and 3 in 4 nights tonight in Vegas.  Enough said.

DEVILS

Dawson Mercer, Timo Meier, Dougie Hamilton

Choose your fighter spot.  New Jersey’s without their two best centers and facing a Washington team not defending centers well, so it opens up taking a shot on Michael McLeod ($3500) and Dawson Mercer ($4100) as values.  New Jersey is still better than Washington and I would back them even without the center depth.

When I list my ‘Key 3’ and then do my Slapshot picks at the end they get a little redundant, so I am just moving that down to the bottom and putting more info in this area on the full positional breakdowns as I expect that to result in better content for you.

POSITIONAL RANKINGS

CENTERS

  1. Jack Eichel – $7800
  2. Tage Thompson – $8000
  3. Michael McLeod – $3500 … Assuming he will be on the top line tonight, this is a value plug to allow for Tage or Eichel to work out.
  4. Ryan Hartman – $5800

WINGS

  1. Alex Tuch – $6100 … Prime spot for the Sabres at home against the Wild who aren’t defending well.  He’s taken 5+ SOG in each of the last two games, has a top 3 DVP matchup tonight and is probably 1k too cheap here too.
  2. Jonathan Huberdeau – $4400 … We’re looking for some value and Huberdeau should be on the top line while getting PP1 time against a PK unit for Toronto which is only killing 71% of penalties.  He hasn’t shot the puck much even when he gets 20+ minutes, but with the PP time likely in his favor & a nice value spot I can see an assist or maybe a lucky goal from Hubes.
  3. Jonathan Marchessault – $6800
  4. Tyler Toffoli – $7700

DEFENSE

  1. Alex Pietrangelo – $6000
  2. Cam Fowler – $3900
  3. John Carlson – $6800
  4. Travis Sanheim – $5500
  5. Cam York – $3600

  1. Vitek Vanecek – Devils – $8200
  2. Joseph Woll – Maple Leafs – $8100
