BOWL SEASON is officially here. We start with the big Saturday slate and then it’ll be a bunch of 2 game slates from here on out for most of the days.
JACKSONVILLE STATE vs LOUISIANA
Jacksonville State -2.5; Over/Under: 58.5
Louisiana Bowl – New Orleans, LA – Dome
We’re in a dome and we have two teams who didn’t lose that much so far via the transfer portal. Jacksonville State QB Zion Webb ($7000) will rush it a good amount here as Louisiana is weak defending the run and Webb’s averaging 10+ attempts per game with a 5.5 YPCA average and 7 rushing TD on the season. He’ll be our must own QB today.
We don’t need a TON of value on this slate, but Elijah Davis ($3000) is worth considering. He split carries with Jacob Kibodi last game out and for the bare minimum can give us a 2x return. ULL will play fast in a game that should have a quick pace to it, so any value guy getting volume is a no brainer.

CALIFORNIA vs TEXAS TECH
Independence Bowl – Shreveport, LA – 60 degrees, light wind
Texas Tech -3; Over/Under: 56.5
While the Pac-12 did slow down as the season concluded, I still think they were the best and most tested conference out there. So I will be leaning towards backing most of those teams unless there’s an obvious reason not too.
The Red Raiders struggled against the run down the stretch when facing good rush offenses and that’s surely the test here against Jaydn Ott, assuming he gets the workload he should. Without Ott having a good game, the Bears do not figure to do a ton here. California also replaced their OC with their offensive line coach, so I would be shocked if Ott doesn’t get all the work.
I will look at some options in the Texas Tech passing game. The starting WR spots are opened up for Coy Eakin ($5000) and Jordan Brown. I trust Eakin to be used more as he has most of the season and as a Freshman likely gets more looks to take over as WR1 next season.

NEW MEXICO STATE vs FRESNO STATE
New Mexico St -3.5; Over/Under: 51.5
New Mexico Bowl – Albuquerque, NM – 48 degrees, no wind
These teams finished in opposite directions, but I believe Fresno State will play well if Mikey Keene can return to his early season form. In that scenario, this most certainly winds up as our best game stack pivot off the New Orleans Bowl game. Both QB can be used with a top WR here without breaking the bank.

MIAMI (OH) vs APPALACHIAN STATE
Appalachian State -6.5; Over/Under: 41.5
Cure Bowl – Orlando, FL – Likely rain and thunderstorms
It was a good season for Miami but they are really banged up at Quarterback and likely rely on their defense to try and win this game. That said, Miami (OH) did kinda have their “Bowl” win by taking the MAC Championship while App St has a bad taste in their mouth losing to Troy.
