The AMBUSH – Championships

There are no big weather issues this weekend, as it appears to be overcast and mid 60’s in San Francisco and 40’s and light rain in Baltimore.  Although Baltimore should probably be rain most of the game.

Either way, no major issues there for me.

Chiefs vs Ravens

  • The OLD Chiefs (and by old I mean a couple years ago) win this game running away.  Because there is a chance to get a big YAC or big air play in this one, but I do not have confidence the Chiefs can get it to the right person to make that happen.
  • If the Chiefs just try to the approach teams have forced them into of picking up first downs and methodically going down the field they are going to lose by 10.  They gotta lean on Mahomes here.
  • All this leads into me liking Mahomes-Hardman-MVS type stack in this spot for the Chiefs.  The upside is great.
  • In the end, though, I am leaning Ravens and think we’ll get 2 rushing touchdowns from their RB.  In DFS on the two game slate, that’s the best contrarian spot I can think of.  Gus Edwards and Justice Hill ruining DFS lineups everywhere.
  • Ravens 31.  Chiefs 26.

Lions vs 49ers

  • Sacks, turnovers, craziness.  This is the game for defensive and special teams points and it’s a lot to do with the Quarterbacks.  Purdy just isn’t good.  Goff is weaker on the road (even though he is going “home”).  Like both defenses. Really like the Lions defense.
  • This game will be close.  It should be lower scoring and if the Lions can find a way to get LaPorta the ball enough, they’ll have the lead because I am confident in their OL to give Goff time to find first downs and control the clock.
  • But the big play ability — much like what KC would need — is where San Francisco shines.
  • San Francisco 23.  Detroit 19.

AMBUSH QUICK HIT THEMES/THOUGHTS

#1.  Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs passing game will wind up being the best “Stack” on the slate simply because Baltimore will shut down their rush and Mahomes winds up throwing 40+ times.

#2.  The Ravens will have 3 rushing touchdowns, 2 of which come from their RB’s at minimum.  They are going to GASH them…

#3.  Tons of field goals in the Niners/Lions game, which limits the ability to have a ton of studs going off there.  But ASB/Kittle/CMC is a nice build.
