There’s reason to pay attention to some weather this week
- UCF at West Virginia: Rain should be cleared out by gametime. It will be chilly though, but nothing that bad.
- UNC at Boston College: Upper 40’s with rain
- Indiana at Ohio State: Upper 40’s with rain
- Penn State at Minnesota: Mid 30’s, but no snow :(.
Not a heavy game stack slate but these games peak my interest the most
Pittsburgh at Louisville
- The Louisville trap game was last week, they should be firing on all cylinders today. Good stack options there too with the core PITT guys (Yarnell-Reid-Mumpfield) running it back for the Panthers.
Texas Tech at Oklahoma State
- This one will get ownership but I would temper going all Texas Tech without hoping that Oklahoma State finally plays without their heads up their ***. Not likely though.
- Tahj Brooks one of the top RB options on a dep RB week. Nobody is gonna have Ollie Gordon though. Worth a pivot.
UCF at West Virginia
- Neither team is playing much defense today. Pricey stack to get RJ Harvey AND Greene, but this spot has some cheap WR who if we’re lucky get into the end zone. Kobe Hudson and Hudson Clement being the options
Have fun playing Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, they’re just both too expensive considering the other pieces we gotta fit in this week. In fact, if we get some late breaking news allowing us to get a punt QB in this week, I’ll take it.
That said, these two are all likely chalky and won’t kill your salary usage too much. Just take one as the CORE QB and move on.
- Garrett Greene (WVU – $7800) … Back to back weeks for Greene to salvage the DFS hype? It sure looks that way and he’ll once again be chalk as WVU gets another home game tor Greene to light up the stat sheet while his defense continues to play like they have a hangover — which they probably do.
- Jalon Daniels (Kansas – $6900) … As long as he doesn’t get injured he’s gonna go over 20 FPTS. It’s really just that simple.
VALUE OPTIONS
- DJ Lagway (Florida – $5000) … It’s very tempting just to start right here and then move on to figuring out WR on this slate because a dirt cheap price at Quarterback with the studs at RB is not the worst pick. I trust Ole Miss defense though to keep him from breaking the slate
The prospect is just plugging in three high priced running backs and maybe having 100+ fantasy points from them is VERY tempting this week. We can even stretch it to a fourth but I don’t know that we’ll have enough punt options to fill in around that. RB is stacked and the only thing that could kill it might be some senior day narrative on the home teams sides as two of these are road backs.
- RJ Harvey (UCF – $9800) … West Virginia seemingly could not tackle a Duck with no feet last week, so with Harvey being fresh and being a workhorse back I would be stupid to not advise you to look at him.
- Tahj Brooks (Texas Tech – $8900) … In the captain obvious department the Oklahoma State rush defense is giving up just under 6 YPC on the season and has gone over that mark in three of their last four games. Throw on top the clear usage that Brooks continues to get each week and this is another 30+ spot coming in hot on us. Ranking Brooks #1 over Harvey isn’t a bad idea either, they’re really 1a and 1b this week…
- Cam Skattebo (Arizona St. – $9400) … Skattebo gets to come off some rest too as he sat out last week and now gets a heavy funnel towards the run against BYU. At home, finally ranked, lets see if Arizona State can bury BYU this week and if they do, it’s probably gonna involve him going off.
HOME BACKS?
- Devin Neal (Kansas – $7500) … Senior narrative and can Kansas play up to opponents and spoiler two weeks in a row?
- Darius Taylor (Minnesota – $8500) … No Senior narrative on Taylor but a HUGE potential for an upset spot who look for a bounce back after ending a 4 game win streak and now get Penn State in what really feels like a Gophers cover and maybe win scenario.
This is the hardest spot to lock down on this slate. I really don’t like anyone a TON but could justify about 7 to 10 mid range options.
We’re gonna need to find some WR value this week with the heavy studs at RB being in 30+ point spots and there being plenty of them to pick from. So, the easiest path to finding value is obviously guys in high tempo games who can catch 5 or 6 balls without doing much effort.
MY TOP 3
- Brennan Presley (Oklahoma State – $7200) … A senior at < 5% ownership in a game which should be close & has home dog upset potential. Tough to jam him in with the RB this afternoon but this is most definitely a slate winner the way the ownership project.s
- Jacolby George (Miami – $5400) … So while I mocked the idea of going with Cam Ward, I cannot deny the piss poor pass coverage that Wake Forest is gonna roll out. Any and all Miami WR are good plays.
- Will Sheppard (Colorado – $5600) … Just one dud game in the last four and this should have a solid pass game volume for Colorado.
SECOND TIER
- Quentin Skinner (Kansas – $4900) … Skinner could get free on the sidelines for a big play or two. He has size in the red zone to pair with Daniels if shifting off Neal too
- Kobe Hudson (UCF – $5100)
- Chimere Dike (Florida – $4400)
- Lewis Bond (Boston College – $4900) … I am not in love with the QB change for Bond and UNC should control clock when they have the ball. If Bond can get one of those 6+ target games though he’s a viable play here. Full disclosure, early in the week, he was my #1. Late in the week, I think my sanity is coming into play because his ceiling is just too low.
