The AMBUSH – NFL Week 17 (Sat)

Just so everyone is aware, there are some pretty decent College Football games on today.  That said, the NFL lucked into a couple good games on their Saturday Flex plans this week with the Broncos/Bengals and Cardinals/Rams being pretty good spots for this late in the season.

It’s kinda easy to say hey, the Broncos/Bengals game is going to be the one to fully stack and you probably aren’t wrong.  But I also would caution we’re more likely to see unders this week than we are to see more shootouts.  Exhibit A, Wed and Thu football so far this week.

The two rookie rushing Quarterbacks are front and center.  Both have been good enough as rookies with Maye being the one coming on more of late.  Obviously, Burrow is looming there and Stafford in a dome spot isn’t bad either, but I lean still on the kids to use their legs to get in the 15-18 range.

  1. Bo Nix (DK: $6200, FD: $7600)
  2. Drake Maye (DK: $5800, FD: $7000)

  1. Kyren Williams (DK: $7500, FD: $8500) … Kyren you have killed me as a pro despite being a reliable option back at Notre Dame.  Today, we become friends again.  Eating the chalk with Kyren.
  2. Chase Brown (DK: $7600, FD: $800) … Love Chase instead of Burrow.  Don’t need a HUGE game here, just that 70 yards and a score stat line.
  3. Rhamondre Stevenson (DK: $5700, FD: $6200) … Stevenson / Dobbins/ Javonte are in the same price range.  Gotta bank on Stevenson to get the most work and be the most reliable of three I don’t love plays.

MY FADE

  • JK Dobbins … This feels like bad “Im Back Chalk” and I wouldn’t be shocked if Kimani Vidal still gets a decent portion with Gus Edwards out.  I can’t trust an injury prone guy coming back in the cold this much.

  1. Ladd McConkey (DK: $6600, FD: $7200) … Fire everyone if he doesn’t finish with 6+ catches.  A depleted RB situation for the Chargers really helps Ladd with the reception(s) upside.  He’s by far WR1
  2. Courtland Sutton (DK: $6300, FD: $7000) … He.  Is.  Scoring.  Take it to the bank.  14 yards, left to right, bottom of the screen, jump ball.
  3. Marvin Harrison Jr (DK: $5200, FD: $6700) … Between MHJ and Michael Wilson there will be someone on Arizona that has to figure into the discussion.  The Rams are terrible at stopping the run, but know the Arizona scheme well and usually try to make Kyler beat them with his arm.  He won’t, but he will find one or two good throws tonight and MHJ is too talented still to not be worth a dart.
  4. Tee Higgins (DK: $6900, FD: $8000)
  5. DeMario Douglas (DK: $4300, FD: $500)

The normal thought pattern on short slates is that TE find a way to go off, but I cannot see it here.  This batch isn’t that great and Henry/McBride are the two reliable options.  I had Gesicki listed here as a nice TD upside play — but I would much rather take the sure thing “cash” type plays here.
