PGA DFS: Valero

Valero Texas Open

Not a bad player pool for the week before The Masters.  The downside is simply that, if a guy collapses in Round 1, don’t expect him to give it his best effort in Round 2 if he’s already in the field at The Masters.  Practice rounds at Augusta are more important than slogging through the weekend in Texas at the back end of the pack.

Highlights:  TPC San Antonio (Oaks Course)

  • Par 72 – 7,438 yards
  • Fairways are narrow (accuracy off the tee is important)
  • Greens are Bermuda (overseeded with POA)
  • Biggest equalizer?  WIND!!!  It’s Texas

NOTE:  All pricing is based on DraftKings

** are my favorites in each category – could be pricing or the fact I think they play best.

$10,000 and Above

Four guys!  Yep, the pattern continues.  In this order:

  • Ludvig Aberg ($10,800)
  • Corey Conners ($10,100)
  • Tommy Fleetwood ($10,700)
  • Patrick Cantlay ($10,200)

For those of you who don’t know, my time is limited this time of year – yes, I’m an accountant too!  I will do my best to get a more thorough Masters article out next week though.

$9,000 to $9,900

  • Denny McCarthy ($9,000)**
  • Keegan Bradley ($9,500)
  • Hideki Matsuyama ($9,900)
  • Daniel Berger ($9,200)** – I like the way he’s playing

$8,000 to $8,900

  • Tony Finau  ($8,800)** – he’s a little off right now but this price is too low for the talent
  • Keith Mitchell ($8,900)
  • Sam Stevens ($8,000)
  • Bud Cauley ($8,300) – current form play

$7,000 to $7,900

  • Gary Woodland  ($7,800)**
  • Jake Knapp ($7,900)**
  • Ryan Fox ($7,500)
  • Isaiah Salinda ($7,300)
  • Victor Perez ($7,100)

Under $7,000

Current Form at this Tier is NOT GOOD right now!

  • Alejandro Tosti ($6,900)
  • Antoine Rozner ($6,700)
  • Carson Young ($6,500)
  • Ben Martin ($6,700) – Course History play!

Longshot(s)
