Solid 11 game slate today on both sites as we have nice Site Synchronicity on this Sunday, May the 4th. Both sites have the Mets/Cardinals G1 of their double header on the slate as well.
WEATHER
It’s pretty ugly. We have bad weather in the following spots that could cause delays or PPD in this order…
Philly, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Boston, New York, Chicago
TANNER BIBEE (DK: $7800, FD: $8100)
Sometimes when it doesn’t feel sexy it’s the right play. This is how I can best describe Bibee as he isn’t getting you an 8+ strikeout performance but he should last for 100 pitches with limited damage.
GARRETT CROCHET (DK: $10,800, FD: $10,700)
This is a spot Crochet can win the slate with. There’s other high priced guys who might take away his ownership as well. I expect an elite start out of him vs the Twins.
SUNDAY SLEEPER
EDWARD CABRERA (DK: $7300, FD: $7400)
We go to the original source of the Sunday Sleeper section and that would be the South Beach Theory. Imagine being a young and fun Baseball player who is relegated to playing your home games in Sacramento. Now, you go on a road trip and you’re in Miami, Florida for the weekend but with a Saturday night off after an afternoon game. What are you gonna do? You’re gonna drink your face off and show up the next day only to get shutout by Edward Cabrera.
OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS … I have a bunch
- I want to keep buying into deGrom, but we’re too high on the cost here with the Rangers keeping the gloves on him. He’s pitching great, and he should pitch well again today. Pay the extra cost for Crochet though between these two.
- I would not mind JP Sears paired with Edward Cabrera. He’s the chalky one of the two for sure.
- Welcome back, Lance McCullers Jr. That’s all, just wanted to say welcome back.
- Don’t worry, I see you too Ranger Suarez. We’ll get to you in a minute, just you hold tight…
- Why is Freddy Peralta over 10k against the Cubs????

DIAMONDBACKS
Welcome back Ranger Suarez. On this slate is also Kyle Gibson, who earlier this week I saw was returning on a Turbo slate and immediately went in and hammered his opponent. Why? These guys are very specific in their craft. They’re veterans who are primarily sinker-baller pitchers working to get ground balls and need to have a feel to get going. You don’t trust a sinker baller early in the season and you especially don’t trust them off the IL or making their first start of the year off the IL. Arizona hasn’t hit as well as I thought they would in this series but that changes today. Love this spot for Grichuck and Gurriel.
GUARDIANS
I am convinced that Robert Bowden Francis is a made up name. The guy looks like he’s about 6 Coors Lights away from whipping his dick out at the bar to pick up some chick. He sucks. And he’s REALLY bad against lefties. A guy who cannot miss bats, sucks against lefties and facing the Guardians lineup? They’re gonna murder him.
NOTE: Jose Ramirez is questionable again. If he is out I still like Cleveland though.
PADRES
Another team that’s kinda cold and under performing is San Diego. It’s the same fucking song and dance with these bozos once again. They look great on paper, they wow people with big wins at home and everyone wants to say they’re going to compete with the Dodgers in the West. They’re not. Her’es why. Their GM is the worst in Sports first off and the way they’re built they won’t go far. Once the pitching gets injured (oh look, it is) that depth goes away. Then when Tatis and Machado stop hitting you realize this lineup is hot dog shit, and not having their best hitter right now certainly doesn’t help.
But… This is the section where I talk about teams I like right?
Oh. Yeah. Well. They can hit lefties, they just don’t see them enough. Manny got his HR yesterday and I’ll take two doubles and 4 RBI today. Xander, Oscar Gonzalez are other cheap bats you can roll with as well.
OTHER TEAMS THAT PEAKED MY INTEREST
- RED SOX … Chris Paddack has it in his contract that he must show up to the park and allow 1 HR per game while throwing exactly 5 innings. Except today he will be generous and allow 5 ER total as well.
- METS … Loved them yesterday against Fedde and do here today as well.
