Every year around this time I try to keep reminding myself that this is when the rookies start to have their star games and last week the guy who I had for scoring (just not 3 times) was RJ Harvey. So there’s going to be a little instinct on my behalf to pull myself over to the rookies when in doubt.
This week Quarterback is definitely a more significant position than what I usually see. But in the end, I’ll still stick with my guns and say it doesn’t matter as much as you think it does. I can definitely see a path for some of the punt plays at QB paying off and as much as I want to push either a Mahomes or Allen big game, I just cannot see it actually playing out that way.
- Jared Goff & JJ McCarthy … Either one. I have both scoring 2 TD, I have this game going over, and I have it easily being your game of the day.
- Caleb Williams (DK: $5700, FD: $7300)
- Cam Ward (DK: $4500, FD: $6400) … He has his best game today, it might not be saying much, but he gets over 17 DK FPTS.
So that that I wrote all that shit about rookies turning it on this time of year only to see that former RUTGERS FOOTBALL star Kyle Monangai is going to be 30%+ owned chalk this week.
I meant GOOD rookies people. GOOD ones.
THE CORE BACKS
- Jahmyr Gibbs (DK: $8000, FD: $8900) … The D-Mont price is awfully tempting, but I have this game being more on the shootout side which heavily favors Gibbs IMO.
- CMC (DK: $8800, FD: $9500) … CMC/Taylor, CMC/Taylor.. No issue with either, but would definitely expect this to be the slate where you go value on RB and pay up elsewhere.
THE VALUE BACKS
- Kareem Hunt (DK: $4700, FD: $5900) … Just a light years better option than Monangai.
- TreVeyeon Henderson (DK: $4900, FD: $5300) … I would also rather pivot over to TreVeyon Henderson as the Patriots defense SHOULD be limiting Atlanta’s offense into short field positions enough and the one thing Atlanta is doing is not allowing you to beat them with WR. Henderson gets in the box.
THE AMBUSH PLAY
- Alvin Kamara (DK: $5500, FD: $6700) … He is questionable and the Saints rumors about him being traded are just silly nonsense for clicks. He will play. And he will do what he does vs the Rams. Catch 5-7 balls by halftime, score a couple touchdowns and do it all at 3% ownership. I haven’t pushed AK hard all season, this is the spot.
Three studs are all dreamy spots here today. Chase, Jefferson and Puka. If anyone has a bad game script, its Puka. If anyone has the who cares syndrome, its Chase. And if anyone is in a must get him the ball a million times day, it has to be Justin Jefferson, by far my #1 play at WR.
THE CORE PLAYS
- Justin Jefferson (DK: $7800, FD: $8700)
- Rome Odunze (DK: $6600, FD: $8000) … By no means am I saying the Bengals defense is going to shutdown the Bears offense just because I dont like Monga…
- Brian Thomas Jr. (DK: $6200, FD: $6900) … Makes a ton of sense to play BTJ and Jakobi Meyers together in a correlated run it back one off WR spot.
TIER TWO PLAYS
- Kendrick Bourne (DK: $5000, FD: $5300) … There’s some touchdowns likely in this game, we have CMC to contend with obviously but I can’t help but think we get two passing touchdowns out of Mac Jones, which leads to one should be at the WR spot. Both Bourne & Jennings will have easy matchups today, pick your spot here.
- Keenan Allen (DK: $5600, FD: $6600)
- Jameson Williams (DK: $4800, FD: $6500)
- Matthew Golden (DK: $4700, FD: $5800)
THE AMBUSH PLAY
- Elic Ayomanor (DK: $3800, FD: $5200) … This is the way my friend. 7 Catches incoming.
