PGA Dew Sweeper: Championship ’26

THE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Highlights:  Aronimink Golf Club

  • Par 70 – 7,394 yards
  • Bentgrass Greens & Large (Avg. 8,300 SF)

NOTE:  CUT – TOP 70 AND TIES!!!

NOTE:  Pricing, if noted,  is based on DraftKings

$9,000 and Above

  • Scottie “Lock and Load” Scheffler ($13,900)
  • #1 Player in the World
  • Priced – OUT OF THIS WORLD
  • You hate to fade him.
  • YOU CAN DO IT THIS WEEK WITH MAJOR PRICING!
  • In 6 PGAs (including an arrest in 2024) he is defending champion and has 5 Top 10s and one missed cut (not 2024).
  • Ludvig Aberg ($9,800) – $4,100 less and he’s been playing…and PLAYING WELL!  All he needs to do is finally make a cut at the PGA.
  • Cameron Young ($10,200) – “Lock and Load Lite”  Not many are playing better than him this season…which is nice to see.
  • Bryson DeChambeau ($10,100) – as long as the LIV saga doesn’t affect his play, he seems to love this major:  T2-2nd-T4-DNP-T38-T4!
  • Collin Morikawa ($9,900) – Not sure I fully trust the back yet but he also usually plays well at the PGA.
  • Rory McIlroy ($12,400) – it’s tough to win back-to-back Majors.  For $1,500 more, I may just stick to Scottie but….  The only thing that bothers me a little was that he seemed a little off last week, but that could mean he’s already over the Masters hangover.

ALSO LIKE:  Matt Fitzpatrick ($10,000), Brooks Koepka ($9,300) and Xander Schauffele ($10,100)

Much like with the Masters, tt’s hard to exclude any of the guys at $9,000 and above, but you can’t play them all!  If you are a multiple lineups person, it may not be a bad idea to start one lineup with each of them.  I think weeks like this are tougher because the variance is higher due to the pressure at Majors and, the field is so strong it’s hard to “exclude” anyone.  It’s tough to play two of these guys in one lineup but not impossible.   Don’t be afraid to go with your gut!

$8,000 to $8,900

  • Patrick Cantlay ($8,900) – He has the ultimate demeanor to compete in a Major.  He just hasn’t played well enough yet.  Coming off T10-T8-T12-T7 in his last four, he doesn’t have that excuse.
  • Chris Gotterup ($8,800) – 2026 has been his show up and show out year.  I think he plays well.  Top 15 at least!
  • Sam Burns ($8,100) – I think he may actually pull of a good, if not great, year in Majors in 2026.  T7 at The Masters and T13 at The Players is a good start!  Win?  Maybe!
  • Shane Lowry ($8,500) – I never really count him out of anything!  If nothing else, he’s a ball of fun to watch play!
  • Jordan Spieth ($8,600) – he’s not the Jordan of the pre-COVID years, but much like it should have been all along with that, I think he’s finally removing the mask that smothered his game!

$7,000 to $7,900

Here is where you make your money!  A lot of these guys are high-quality players that are mid-range priced simply because of the quality of the field.

  • Si Woo Kim ($7,900) – pretty consistent lately.  Drawback: Not great PGA history.
  • Gary Woodland ($7,300) – for this price? Yes, please!
  • Rickie Fowler ($7,400) – three straight Top 10s (and yes, I know two were Elevated Events with no cut).
  • Kurt Kitayama ($7,300)
  • Adam Scott ($7,500)
  • Keegan Bradley ($7,400)
  • Max Homa ($7,000) – I want to say it’s because I trust him, but I don’t!  But his potential to play well when priced this low is what sold me.
  • Akshay Bhatia ($7,600) – another guy with the potential to shine but just as likely to end up in the middle of the pack.
  • Harris English ($7,200)

Under $7,000

  • Nicolai Hojgaard ($6,500) – he may have righted the ship! At this price, it’s worth the risk!  You could go Rasmus at the same price too, but I think Nicolai is playing better.
  • Sudarshan Yellamaraju ($6,900) – late add to the PGA!  Anyone remember John Daly?
  • Kristoffer Reitan ($6,200) – shocker last week!  But Win-T14-T2-T41-T10 coming into a Major – and little to no pressure – it doesn’t take much more than a made cut to pay off this price.
  • J. T. Poston ($6,000) – Renner’s model seems to like Mr. Poston.
  • Alex Fitzpatrick ($5,900) – can he keep the hot streak going?  Again, made cut and the price is OUTSTANDING!!

Others with potential:  Harry Hall ($5,800); Pierceson Coody ($6,300), Nick Taylor ($5,800); Alex Smalley ($6,100); MATTHEW McCARTY ($5,700) – last 5? T10-T9-T12-T24 (MASTERS)
