The Dongers Club – July 20th (Early)

WEATHER All clear   WILL WARREN (DK: $8000) Warren definitely won’t bring the same velocity that Schlitter did last night and I really underestimated how bad the Reds are versus the high velocity fastballs right now.  That said, he does lean into it a lot and should be repeating what we saw last night enough to work out.  I equally like his opponent Andrew Abbott today – who no, is not related to Jim Abbott who of course threw a no hitter in Yankee stadium. MAX MEYER (DK: $9900) His rating (which is like a projection, yes) for us today is lower than it is expected.  The strikeouts could be low today vs the Giants, so I’m bumping him down for that reason, but he is still the top arm on the slate — even with Sale being an option. NATE EOVALDI (DK: $9300) No clue what the hell that was from deGrom last night, but maybe the Padres just hit slams in Texas.  Eovaldi’s risk is that San Diego basically just sits dead red.  His advantage is that I still think they just suck. Eovaldi scratched and MacKenzie Gore bumped up today.  Obviously Gore is facing the team who originally brought him up, and obviously I love the guy, so yeah, I like him but I am definitely conflicted here.     WILL BE OKAY TOO I probably like too many pitchers for a Saturday afternoon slate today, but both Chris Sale and Kyle Harrison are likely to do just fine for you, yet I want neither because I think both have long innings & the game gets into two good bullpens.   MARLINS Trevor McDonald threw a pitch.  HER-I-BER-T-O.  And after this pitch he threw another.  S-T-O-WER-S.  With a Hicks Hicks here.  Caissie there.  Here a Mack there a Jakob, I ran out of names to rhyme now.  Just play … the fish …. my friends Heriberto Hernandez Kyle Stowers   WHITE SOX vs TIGERS Oooooh, we almost had some brawl potential last night and seeing the AL Central have some fight in it is always a good thing.  Both teams benefit from good weather & wind blowing out to left center here in Comerica today.  They also thrive on bad pitching with Troy Melton not being able strikeout any lefties & the White Sox are once again going with the opener route.
