Overview
For the second time in as many seasons, the Camping World Trucks will hit the dirt of Bristol Motor Speedway. This race along with the dirt race at Eldora are unlike any other races on the schedule. It makes for all sorts of chaos and variance right from the start, especially considering that there is no qualifying but instead there are heat races beforehand that decide the starting lineup. Aside from last years race and the practice results from yesterday, there isn’t much to go by as of now while we await the results of those heat races. There are some Cup drivers in this race and others with dirt racing experience and I’ll touch on the best drivers to look at as of now, without the heat races completed of course.
Strategy
We’re looking for drivers that are going to simply survive to run the duration of this race as there are just 75 laps making dominator points take a back seat. Cup drivers Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon, as well as dirt aces Stewart Friesen and Buddy Kofoid highlight the field. The value guys we’ll need to find after the heat races.
Note: Be sure to check Discord for updates after qualifying.
Most comparable tracks: Eldora, the only other dirt track on the schedule.
*Note: all pricing is DraftKings focused
Top Drivers
Chase Elliott ($10,700)
Elliott will be in the number 7 truck, a truck in which Hendrick Motorsports drivers have enjoyed success in over the last couple of weeks; Alex Bowman at COTA and William Byron last week at Martinsville, a race in which he won. However, the dirt is clearly different but Elliott has been able to navigate dirt tracks coming up in racing throughout his life. Elliott had success in practice and should contend to win this race outright.
Joey Logano ($10,900)
Speaking of winning outright, Logano won the Cup race on the dirt at Bristol last year and had the best truck during truck practice, specifically on the long runs. In the ever-strong 54 truck, Logano will contend until the end. The only question is where does he qualify?
Austin Dillon ($9,100)
Dillon won the inaugural truck race at Eldora while leading 30 laps. Dillon has finished ninth and sixth in the two subsequent races at Eldora and will be piloting the number 20 Young’s Motorsports truck in this race. His salary is lower than Elliott and Logano’s making this driver who’s had success in this format extremely intriguing.
Also Consider:
Buddy Kofoid ($9,300)
- Kofoid is a dirt track racer and he’ll be in a great 51 truck.
Parker Kligerman ($7,400)
- Always a contender for a strong finish in the truck races and had a strong showing at the Bristol dirt last year finishing eighth.
Mike Marlar ($7,100)
- Has a ton of dirt experience and won the Kyle Larson Late Model Challenge a few days ago, a dirt race that he dominated.
Note: Be sure to check Discord for updates after qualifying.
GOOD LUCK!!
