PGA DFS: Corales Puntacana Champ

Corales Puntacana Championship

I usually don’t do the alternate event, but since the main event is Match Play, I’ll give you a brief rundown for those of you that want to play traditional DFS Golf.

NOTE:  All pricing is based on DraftKings

** are my favorites in each category – could be pricing or the fact I think they play best.

$9,000 and Above

  • Wyndham Clark ($10,500)**
  • Thomas Detry ($9,600)**
  • Erik Van Rooyen ($9,100) – Finished strong last week in Florida

$7,500 to $8,900

DP World Tour golf tips: Nicolai Hojgaard can shine in Thailand Classic | PlanetSport

  • Nicolai Hojgaard ($8,800)** – Coming over from the World Tour but has made 7 of 7 cuts and his worst finish in his last 6 is a T38.
  • Ryan Gerard ($7,700) – struggled on the weekend last week but had three Top 15s prior to that.  A depleted field is sometimes good for rookies.
  • Akshay Bhatia ($8,500)**  – he missed the cut last week but finished 2nd in Puerto Rico.  Depleted field, good golf game, and recent history on a course in the same region makes him a good play.
  • Aaron Baddeley ($7,500) – Nothing like a cheap price for a veteran that’s starting to play well.

$7,000 to $7,400

  • Cody Gribble ($7,400)** – back-to-back ties for 7th.
  • Henrick Norlander ($7,300)
  • Santiago Tarrio ($7,200) – Spaniard coming from the World Tour with back-to-back Top 15s in his last two events and has made 7/11 cuts.
  • Russell Knox ($7,100) – yeah, he’s been sucking on the Tour but this may be a good place for him right now.

Under $7,000

“Scrub Zone” – Oh boy!

  • Bill Haas ($6,600) – this is about the only field/format that he’s viable in at this point. He finished T11 in Puerto Rico.
  • Derek Ernst ($6,400) – if you’re down here at this point anyway, why not give the guy a shot that’s 1/1 in cuts made. Oh, and it was at Puerto Rico and a Top 25.
