Okay, see ya!   WEATHER All games will play   This is more of a decision on if you are itching to play say $7000 Ronald Acuna in Coors Field and how much $ you can justify spending on pitching tonight.  I see three guys who I think are worth their price up top. Gausman is the one who has the best chance to ‘go off’ but he really has to go 7 IP and 10+ strikeouts against a Nationals lineup which isn’t garbage, so if Gausman is contrarian he’s worth the flier IMO though. GrayRod and Jon Gray are both facing offenses that they should be able to handle fine and are priced very affordrable Grayson Rodriguez (DK: $7500, FD: $8700) Jon Gray (DK: $8100, FD: $9400) Kevin Gausman (DK: $11.2k, FD: $10.9k)   The Cheap / Punt Options None of these options are going to post a 20 and break the slate for you.  But I don’t see them getting blown up. Kyle Harrison (DK: $6500) … Reds coming into town, usually young does hit young but it’s a bad park shift and Harrison should pitch well at home. Michael Kopech (DK $6300) … Baltimore has gone cold Zack Greinke (DK: $6000) … The Royals arent extending Greinke because they want to get other guys some work in, but I see a 5 IP and a Win for Greinke tonight     ROYALS Maikel Garcia, Drew Waters, Michael Massey Royals get to come back home after slowing down in Seattle as expected.  Look for them to have a big week against the Pirates pitching, which also carries a 4.63 ERA over the last 10 days and too many walks.  Nice value spot here. BRAVES Austin Riley, Marcell Ozuna Everyone hits Austin Gomber, so naturally the Braves should hit him too, right?  Marcell Ozuna probably is one of the highest owned guys, he’s been hot in the second half and is only $5100 here.  Really though I don’t see how Austin Riley doesn’t have a big game tonight. Down to just two Sunday’s remaining for MLB DFS content as the prize pools go away once NFL officially returns on Sunday’s and next weekend is of course over a Holiday weekend. Meanwhile, over at FanDuel, they have already given up on Sunday’s with today’s MAIN slate featuring everything through the 4PM games. This is an 11 game Main Slate on DraftKings. For the FanDuel crowd, the Mariners/Royals game is going to be 2-1 and the Reds probably are worth consideration but there’s plenty of other hitting options so I would just ignore the 4PM window games all together.   WEATHER All clear   I’m just going to go completely off the gut here today, and there are four pitchers total who I would go with. Justin Verlander Yusei Kikuchi Mike Clevinger Carlos Rodon Yes, you are reading that correctly.  Obviously Verlander going back into Detroit is going to be the #1 spot for us today.  Even with the Astros being smart and keeping him under 100 pitches each outing he has shown that he can produce enough swings and misses & now see’s a Detroit team that should produce another high K% spot. Kikuchi is always a gamble, if his command is off then its nighty night against a patient Cleveland lineup, however, the Oscar Gonzalez, Ramon Laureano and bottom part of the order AB’s should result in him getting strikeouts up in the zone with his fastball.  Nobody will trust him at that price against Cleveland, nobody except me. Clevinger and Rodon fall into the real ‘sleeper’ category, although Clevinger vs Oakland likely draws some relative ownership.  Rodon wont, but Rodon is your real K% upside sleeper today.  I don’t trust Tampa at all.   I would spread out hitting exposure today with the heavier slate of games and I doubt we see a ton of explosive offensive outbursts today.  The Orioles and Blue Jays are top end CORE teams to load up with.  Toronto seeing Thor should be able to get on base, run and also touch him in up in their hitter friendly park. The early slate(s) today are almost the same.  But, they’re not sadly.  FanDuel has the Jays and Guardians, DraftKings excluded that and made it into a showdown spots.  Failure on the part of DraftKings here.   WEATHER All clear   Max Fried will bounce back today out in San Francisco and he will 100% get you over 20 DraftKings points.  I am not positive anyone else can do that, but Eury Perez would be the most logical second choice SP2. I like Glasnow, but everything about the Rays worries me so proceed witih caution about him leaving early due to some random injury. WEATHER Dodgers at Red Sox — Rain here will be increasing throughout the game.  Dodgers could run into another ‘suspended’ mid game scenario since MLB loves to do that now.   KODAI SENGA Well there’s no Trout and while Ohtani says he is playing as a DH I don’t know that Senga will make a mistake to his friend here today. MITCH KELLER I expect Keller to finish the season strong like he started it.  His SwStr% has gone back up over 10% each of the last three starts with a 38.8% CSW against the Twins in his last outing.   Velocity and command both being good will do that & the Cubs aren’t a team that has seen him all season long — which is unusual given the divisional correlation. DYLAN CEASE Last night’s chalk Oakland which went off late is probably the most reliable option to attack as a third choice.  Cease will have big time success with his slider tonight.   CARDINALS / PHILLIES Arenado, Goldy Turner, Stott The Phillies are playing GREAT baseball now with Schwarber back alive, Turner hitting well and Harper delivering when they need him too.  But it’s Arenado/Goldschmidt who really stand out to me in this game.  Goldy will do it off Sanchez, Arenado does it mid-game. ORIOLES Rutschman, Hays, Westburg RHH are slugging .528 off Freeland, he doesn’t project to have a strikeout advantage over 7 of the hitters and Baltimore likely rolls out a few crooked numbers early here. GUARDIANS Ramirez, Gimenez, Calhoun   Also good spots Dodgers vs Red Sox:  Rain is the biggest fear here.  Hey, Mookie!  How about that.  Hey Verdugo!  hey Turner!  Adam Duvall is on one of his little heaters at the moment.  LHH rock Lynn the most historically so couple those two with the rest of this lineup and I can see this being a 6-3 game when they suspend it in the third inning. WEATHER TOR at BAL:  Lingering Rain CHC at PIT:  Lingering Rain All in all, I expect all five games to play.   Only two pitchers I feel very comfortable with tonight: Justin Steele (DK: $9800, FD: $10,400) Ken Waldichuck (DK: $5300, FD: $6700) We can make a good argument for Pablo Lopez, but I just don’t see why you would venture down that path against Texas, who is a ticking time bomb every slate.  Merrill Kelly is someone I am attacking tonight, but I would expect him to be a little popular. Kyle Gibson and Andrew Heaney honestly scare me more than Waldichuk.  Heaney between the two has a higher probability to come out and shove though.   REDS TJ Friedl, Stephenson, De La Cruz, Votto Could be a little crazy here and pluck some bottom lineup value like Benson or Marte to go with Stephenson and Elly as a one off.  Elly in this park should have a field day. Early Slate with 7 games on DraftKings and … well, FanDuel is just gonna FanDuel.  Basically DraftKings skipped the Cardinals/Pirates game, making that a showdown 12:35 spot start for those who are starting their afternoon lunch early and want to load up on a Cardinals Stack. FanDuel included that game but only with the 1pm/2pm games on their ‘Very Early’ slate. This article is going to cover the DraftKings 1PM slate which includes Cubs/Tigers, Mariners/White Sox, Twins/Brewers, Royals/Athletics, Giants/Phillies, Marlins/Padres and Reds/Angels G1 of their double-header. Shohei Ohtani is PITCHING in that early game, so that’s how DK has him labeled.   WEATHER Cubs at Tigers — Thunderstorms could disrupt the game, but they will finish it. Mariners at White Sox — It’s gonna feel like 100 degrees in Chicago today, closer to 140 if you factor in the temperature of the Mariners offense right now.  Oh and the wind is blowing out to left field.  Oh and Michael Kopech is pitching.  LOL.  Fun times my friends, fun times.   This 1-2 combination I have listed below could wind up being a highly chalky spot given their pricing, but I am not worried much about the ownership on either. Shohei Ohtani:  Day game in Anaheim yes, but no concerns as Ohtani at home always cruises along to get through 6 innings. Cole Ragans:   Very cheap and pitching well enough to trust.  The Royals have no limitations on him at the moment and the consistent 30%+ CSW rate against a young Oakland lineup should continue here today. I think that Burnes will pitch well enough to not burn you (no pun intended) and Sandy Alcantara has another very SOLID outing as well.  They both make for fine secondary options but I have no concerns with Ohtani/Ragans at all today.   MARINERS Hernandez, France, Rodriguez, Rojas Kopech has shown zero signs of life that would warrant thinking the Mariners high K% comes back today and he capitalizes on that.  Happy Ty France day. TIGERS Greene, Torkelson, Carpenter Torkelson and Carpenter are playing out of their minds right now, both hitting everything well and hard.  The player I really like to have a big game though is Riley Greene, he’s $4600 compared to Akil Baddoo for 3100, but if you go Tigers, Greene is the guy to have a 3-5 day with a triple and 3 runs scored.   Also expect to produce […]

Wake up, it’s Yusei Kikuchi vs the Orioles on a Tuesday night day!   WEATHER Looks all clear.   LUCAS GIOLITO DK: $9100, FD: $9100 Anaheim is a decent spot for LHH, but really we’re just dealing with Votto and EDLC.  A young Reds lineup mostly and a sharp Giolito who is pitching well for Anaheim, has plenty of rest and you can be assured he will go 100+ pitches and likely 6+ innings.  One of the more safer options out there tonight. GRAYSON RODRIGUEZ DK:  $6100, FD: $8200 If the game was in Toronto then I can justify passing on Rodriguez, who is graded lower than he should be and priced lower than he should be as well.  Lefties have been able to handle the young kid, but the Jays have really just Varsho and Belt in that regard.  The righties in Camden should not be able to take him deep, outside of maybe Bichette going opposite field for a double but that’s hard to do in Camden unless you hit the fence where the grounds crew sits just right. BRYAN WOO DK:  $7600, FD: $7900 After Luis Castillo threw nothing but fastballs last night, in comes Bryan Woo who throws his 4-seamer 49% of the time and his 2-seamer 26% of the time.  Gee, I wonder what he’s gonna do here.  And I wonder what the White Sox are gonna do in return? OTHER PITCHING NOTES Graham Ashcraft … was someone I had on my Monday radar before they PPD the game, but that was when we had a very limited menu of pitching selections.  I can’t say I don’t like him now, I just don’t have him in the top 3 anymore.
