It’s just a four game slate with obviously all get-away games.  Rangers at Rays, Royals at Twins, Yankees at White Sox and Cubs at Cardinals.   WEATHER All Clear.  Minnesota looks the most favorable for hitting.   I don’t think you see any clear dominant outing from anyone today – just the nature of what we have to choose from. A lot of Baseball for a Monday but they did is wrong in cutting the Turbo slate into its own early window set of games.  There’s even a 4th game in Texas today between the Mariners and Rangers if you are into that sort of thing. But then, it’s a Monday in July, what else are you doing at 2PM?   WEATHER Delays, Delays, Delays.  Lets see what we get here…. Guardians at Reds:  This should start on time and then rush to a finish Cubs at Cardinals:  Likely chance of storms, but they get the game in.  Extremely hot here.   There is a general feeling that after the All-Star break you simply lock in on your model & ratings and trust it on a daily basis, with a few pivots here or there.  Simplify the process with MLB and trust the data to cover 70% of what you have.  Well, tonight is one of those nights my friends with pitching. The bottom line is you need to obviously factor in a chance of storms in the Cleveland / Cincinnati game, but I think they start on time and get through enough before any bad weather comes in.  This puts Mr. Burns at the top.  After him though, we’re basically leaning into the trust that the Angels lineup is more ass than not most nights & Imai can post back to back 6 inning quality starts. It’s a special day as we have a solid 12 game Sunday slate, a ode to the old 15 day all day slates almost but without three showdown games at Noon, 4PM and then 7PM tonight.  So the six teams whom you are not subjected too today include Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, San Francisco, New York and Philadelphia.  Unless, of course, you are in need of island showdown action in which case I do not fault you one bit for making Junior Caminero, Jorge Soler and Bryce Harper your captains. We’re also quickly approaching the end of Sunday MLB DFS.  Some of you probably find that to be a good thing, and certainly I do not blame you.  It’s actually almost the end of weekend MLB DFS as well.  So, enjoy it.   RANDOM BASEBALL NOTE The Red Sox/Nationals trade is a brilliant trade for both sides.  Washington returns Brady House to 3B while getting some much needed pitching help and Boston gets someone who is actually built to rake in Fenway Park in Curtis Mead.  I love this deal for both sides, especially Boston.   WEATHER Chance of storms in two spots, but no PPD risk Athletics at Twins:  Hope mother nature just wipes these teams off the planet. Reds at Cardinals   Three aces today going in climate controlled environments.  The Miz, Gilbert and deGrom.  The latter of which are facing each other down in Texas & will be fighting to see who is first to give up that solo homer that they both can be prone too doing.  Miz actually is NOT facing the highest K% on the slate.  These Rockies do a good job of getting their bats on the ball — but he is the Miz and the opponent really doesn’t matter. A very boring Thursday night in the Sports world and it’s kinda a boring Friday as well so thank goodness we have MLB games tonight, am I right? On another note, look at the slate this weekend and you’ll notice that there’s almost NO west coast series going on.  The only one is out in San Francisco between the Angels and Giants.  This means on Sunday we should have a 12 game main slate with three one off Showdown slates (Brunch, 4PM and 7PM), which is interesting to almost nobody but me probably.
