CBB DFS – Feb 3rd

One game wiped out today as Iowa at Ohio State has been PPD due to weather, so this slate is now very heavy with west coast games as only St. Johns/Georgetown begins before 8pm.

St. John’s at Georgetown

And speaking of that game, it’s the highest total for good reason with the 4th and 47th ranked Tempo teams in the nation facing off with the 249th and 100th ranked defenses.

Any PG who can score the basketball tears up the hole that is the Georgetown defense, so Posh Alexander is very likely to once again have a big game, but eventually we’re gonna see that Julian Champagnie 40+ game once again, could it be here?

  • STJ:  Posh Alexander, Aaron Wheeler or Champaigne
  • GT:  Aminu Mohammed, Dante Harris, Kaiden Rice

Oregon State at Utah

Two very bad defenses and boring offenses square off, I like Utah to really control this game but there’s some good chances we see a value/mid range play come out of here from Oregon State.

  • Beavers:  Dashawn Davis
  • Utes:  Lazar Stefanovic

UCLA at Arizona

A re-match from a little over a week ago and in that game Jules Bernard and Benedict Murthin were the stars on both sides.  Both teams rely upon their bench enough to make it difficult to full stack either side.  UCLA cruised in that one to a 16 point victory and things should be much harder in a packed house at Arizona tonight.

  • UCLA:  Tyger Campbell
  • Arizona:  Benedict Mathurin, Pelle Larson (Value)

USC at Arizona State

I will be riding the under on this game, but I think it’s stupid to ignore it for DFS purposes.  Other guys in better games than Isaiah Mobeley have my attention, he’ll dominate on the glass and get you 35 yes but I think thats his ceiling today.  Chevez Goodwin rebounds just as well and is 2600 cheaper.

DJ Horne rains threes for the Sun Devils and Kimani Lawrence is their best hope to pull off the home dog win.

  • USC:  Chevez Goodwin, Boogie Ellis
  • ASU:  DJ Horne, Kimani Lawrence

Posh Alexander – St. Johns – $8,900

We have data from their prior meeting when Posh went for 46.5 fantasy points on a perfect 4-4 shooting night from the floor.  How did he get 46 with just 4 FG attempts?  Well, it helps when you get to the line 10 times, dish out 7 assists, have 6 steals and 6 rebounds.  I doubt he has 10 FT attempts on the road, but he should take more than just 4 FG and all those other stats are exactly what Posh brings to the table.  In a pace up spot like this I trust his floor more than Champaigne.

Dante Harris – Georgetown – $6,100

Most players shoot better at home and Harris is no exception (3% better).  He’ll take double digit shots and chip in with some assists and hopefully a steal or two.

Lazar Stefanovic – Utah – $5,400

His teammate, Brendan Carlson is one of the high end top plays, but for value against a bad defense you will be happy with Stefanovic who gets 30+ minutes, has a 20% usage and has taken 28-3 pointers over his last five games.  No, I did not find that stat on purpose, it literally just came out like that, I swear.

High End $$$

  • Posh Alexander – St Johns
  • Aminu Mohammed – G’Town
  • Brenden Carlson – Utah
  • Jabari Walker – Colorado

Mid Range $$

  • Dante Harris – G’Town
  • Jordan Shepherd – California … Pace boost & 31% usage over last 3 games.
  • Dashawn Davis  – Oregon State
  • Tyger Campbell – UCLA
  • Marcellus Earlington – San Diego

Value $

  • Lazar Stefanovic
  • Roman Silva
  • Andrej Jakimovski
  • Ryan Mutombo – G’Town – $3800 and playing just a few less minutes than Kaiden Rice lately.  Given that FWD is a wasteland in the mid range tonight, he’s a viable punt play coming off his best game.
  • Jaiden Delaire
  • Quincy Guerrier

Also Note:  The forward position is very thin tonight.  I am not looking to spend up much there.

Posh Alexander – St. Johns – $8,900
