I wish I had a simple way to break down how the FanDuel and DraftKings slates could possibly align but I think I am just going to go watch Stranger Things 4 and let my mind rest instead of this debacle that FanDuel did on their side today.
All total there are 16 MLB games today as the Rockies and Nationals will play their double-header today to make up last nights PPD game and here is the breakdown between FD & DK which looks normal on the surface until you realize something which I’ll explain below
FanDuel – 2 Slates
They have since added a bunch of other poors slates. I have no words here…
- 12:05 PM (2 Games): Early
- 4:05 PM (8 Games): Main
- …. that’s it
DraftKings
- 2:10 PM (2 Games) – Turbo Slate
- 4:05 PM (6 Games) – Early
- 7:05 PM (6 Games) – Main
So FanDuel is including the Noon Rockies/Nationals and Orioles/Red Sox G1 of double headers. Please dont let them know they are double-headers they might actually cancel the slate then because they dont want too much revenue now as the IRS might flag them for actually making a profit and that wouldn’t be good for their U.K. Drug Money Laundering Scheme of a business.
But what is fucking hilarious? They made the 4PM slate the Main slate and then didn’t include three games that start at 10pm. Three pretty important games too. So instead of having THREE (if not 4 if you count the 2pm games) legit slates, they have … 1 Good slate and then 1 slate nobody will be awake in time to really set a lineup for.
My pet turtle’s travel lacrosse team is more organized than these asshats.
So here’s the plan. Just one article that is going to cover every game from Early and Main on DraftKings, which also covers the Main on FanDuel.

WEATHER
All games should play fine.

AFTERNOON SLATE
Shane Bieber
Welcome to the land of De-Ja-Vu. A week ago Shane Beiber vs Detroit was scratched due to rain and then he came out and dazzled. I was going to fade him last night with other options which really didn’t do well, so lets just all make sure we do the smart thing and take him now.
Gerrit Cole
Tampa cannot hit right now and the Yankees pitching staff is in a great rythym. Through the first two games of this series they have shut down the Rays and Cole is likely to continue that tonight.
Corey Kluber
Value pitching is very hard to find on the Afternoon slate. Chad Kuhl for 8200 could be popular vs the Nationals but grades poorly. So lets take our trip down to Costco as Corey Kluber will look to pitch well in a home game against the Yankees lineup which is banged up and Aaron Judge despite his big season has 0 Saturday homers this year…

MAIN SLATE
Joe Musgrove
In a week when the top end SP has getting blown up I am going to just throw up in my mouth if Musgrove winds up getting beat up by Pittsburgh.
Jose Urquidy
I believe that Urquidy will get through 6 innings and no he won’t have another double digit strike out spot but you aren’t asking for much out of him at $6,000.
Merrill Kelly
A little contrarian yes, but for sure the roof will start closed tonight with the early start in Arizona and Kelly has always done favorably against L.A.

AFTERNOON SLATE
GIANTS
This is a lineup worthy of using 4+ hitters from.
Mike Yasztremski, Tommy La Stella, Joc Pederson, Evan Longoria
First off I don’t see the Giants losing two in a row to the Reds and second off they’re getting Vladdy G the pitcher which is not a good Vladdy G. The Giants as a team have a ISO over .220 against RHP and have the lowest pitch type K% on the board. Throw in the small park, a bad bullpen and favorable weather and we have a 12 spot from the Giants today.

MAIN SLATE
ANGELS
Taylor Ward, Mike Trout, Matt Duffy, Luis Rengifo
Another opportunity for us to stack against everyone who wants to utter Yusei Kikuchi as a viable play. Yes, the Angels have had times where they do not hit LHP but Mr. Saturday Night Mike Trout will shut those people up very quickly tonight.
ASTROS
Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Yuli Gurriel, Kyle Tucker
Logan Gilbert is starting to show a little bit of fatigue. Over his last three starts opponents have raised their launch angle against him to 16, 22 and 17 after he held everyone below or near 10 through his first 5 starts. The Astros aren’t the best team to be doing that against and likely make him pay tonight.

It’s a stack Saturday and thus I would have 4 players from a primary team in every lineup. So here are my favorite afternoon and main slate one offs at each position (DK positions). Just one guy per spot
