Back to a six game slate which could turn into a five game slate.
The Nationals and Giants are playing a four game series in Washington and there is some rain in the forecast for tonight. It’s the Nationals, so brace yourself for a train wreck around delays or postponements.

Just about everyone will land upon the same pitchers tonight and it’s not like any of them are the wrong path tonight, but I certainly have the guys ranked a little differently.
Frankie Montas
My Royals suck on offense right now — that is my official analytics take. Montas is going to destroy them on up in the zone fastballs so long as he doesn’t get cute and think he should be throwing nothing but sinkers to Whit, Salvy and Santana. He has the best upside out of the chalky 1-2 of Max/Trevor.
Trevor Rogers
As long as Trevor Story remains out …. And lookie here, Trevor Story is BACK in the lineup tonight. That said, this is still your heavy chalk play tonight as Rogers gets the weaker portion of the Rockies lineup, at home and in a South Beach get away game spot.
Max Scherzer
It looked initially like this game had no shot of playing but storms are going to be waiting to come through the DC area until after Max has probably rung up 5 Giants through 5 innings. The timing of the storms ultimately is what makes or breaks Max tonight but either way he will finish with an adequate score against a Giants team on their weaker side and missing a few regulars.

Toronto Blue Jays
Bichette / Hernandez
Dallas Keuchel has allowed a .543 xSLG to RH batters this season, doesn’t miss a ton of bats and this is a lineup that should rake against him. Look for a good game from Bichette and Hernandez today and if we get min priced Riley Adams in there too then he makes a great addition to a 4 man Blue Jays stack.
Houston Astros
Altuve / Correa / Gurriel
They won’t be the team to WIN the slate like they have the past two nights but that might be wishful thinking more for me hoping that ownership on them Friday/Saturday/Sunday is low as they’re about to head over to Minnesota where they rake (and its warm). Cooler temps in Boston tonight might limit them from going off but I still see this being a good offensive game and the way the Vegas run total Sheep are drifting tonight we’re getting the best road offense in the game at lower ownership than the damn Yankees and Twins.
N.Y. Yankees
Sanchez / Urshela / Judge
Are the Yankees suddenly good? Not quite – but they’ll get another warm game in Minnesota and will face a struggling (not very good) lefty in former Yankee J.A. Happ tonight.

CATCHER
- Gary Sanchez … Facing former SP
- Yasmani Grandal … Facing former SP
FIRST BASE
- Yuli Gurriel
- Vlad Jr.
SECOND BASE
- Jazz Chisholm
- DJ LeMahieu
- Jose Altuve
THIRD BASE
- Rafael Devers – I strongly feel we need someone on Boston tonight, they have been struggling big time vs Houston but are too good to get completely swept out by the Astros without a fight. Has to be Devers tonight if they do damage in my mind.
- Gio Urshela
- Matt Chapman
SHORTSTOP
This is a very deep position today, but Bichette is about as solid as they come tonight where he should be in line to get on base multiple times.
- Bo Bichette
- Gleyber Torres
- Tim Anderson
OUTFIELD – Mt. Rushmore
- Aaron Judge
- Teoscar Hernandez – Incoming Teoscar Hot Streak
- Juan Soto
- Corey Dickerson
OUTFIELD – Value
- Trevor Larnach … Mitch (It’s Michael, Sir) … whatever, Mitch King here was able to throw some quality pitches his last outing but generally makes too many mistakes. No immaculate inning tonight and the lefties on the Twins can give him hell. Like Larnach as the top value on the slate.
- Alex Verdugo
- Andrew Vauhgn
