Overview

The weekend wraps up with the Cup Series hitting Darlington Raceway for 400 miles, or 293 of high-speed in the Goodyear 400. After an exciting XFINITY race on Saturday, Sunday’s event promises to be just as captivating as the drivers attack the “Track Too Tough to Tame”. Darlington is an egg-shaped 1.366-mile asphalt oval that stock cars have turned laps on since 1950. The 293 laps in this particular race makes dominators even more relevant than they were in yesterday’s race where there we only 147 laps.

Top Drivers

Tyler Reddick ($9,000), Starting 10th

Reddick ran the XFINITY on Saturday and had a tremendous run going in sub-par equipment before Ryan Truex basically drove his car into him like a jackass. Reddick loves riding the high line and getting close to the wall which is a strong approach to getting around Darlington in a fast manner.

Chase Elliott ($10,600), Starting 34th

Despite this not being a strong track for Elliott, he’ll still be a tough fade in DFS lineups. Elliott has an average finish of 18th at Darlington and has two top-fives in 10 races there. Heavy chalk will be attached to Elliott as a place differential scorer. Keep in mind that he is in a backup car starting deep in the field so while he may have a solid floor, his upside could be a bit limited.

Kyle Larson ($11,000), Starting 2nd

Like Reddick above, Larson loves riding the car up high near the wall and it is one of the strongest assets he has. With that being said, Larson has never won here despite five top-five finishes in eight races and leading 124 or more laps on three occasions. This could be Larson’s best race of the year to date and I don’t want to miss it. He’ll be one my highest-owned drivers.

Austin Cindric ($7,100), Starting 19th

Cindric is priced right for a starting position of 19th. Earlier this season at like track Fontana, Cindric finished 12th and has been fast in practice this week. Despite a lackluster qualifying mark, I like him a ton this week to challenge for a top-10 to top-12 finish.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ($6,700), Starting 26th

He’ll start 26th but Ricky is coming off of a great finish last week as the runner-up in a very competitive race. It’s always a scary proposition to bank on a chalky Stenhouse but earlier this season he finished 10th at Fontana which presents some promise heading into this race.

Also Consider:

Kevin Harvick ($8,800) Starting 35th

Not much of a secret here, Harvick will grab heavy ownership based on his 35th starting position. Harvick’s track history here is great with 13 straight top-10’s.

Chase Briscoe ($8,100), Starting 13th

No one will have Briscoe today as he’s starting in about no-man land but has top-five upside at a track that suits his style extremely well.

Corey Lajoie ($4,900), Starting 30th

A great value/floor play to finish up lineups with. Don’t expect much but he finished 22nd or better in both races at Darlington last season.
