I’ve had a busy week and especially since Tuesday/Wednesday — in fact I didn’t sleep Wednesday night and didn’t get to bed until 1am last night.  Everything’s fine, just busy with work stuff.  You’re like, so what, who cares. Well.  I am just saying that this weekend is always one of my favorites of the year for MLB.  I am just now at 1PM looking at the slate, the games and we’re just ahead of what is a TestiFriday where the Cubs play a game at Wrigley at 2:20 vs Houston.  A mini Turbo slate and then a really good 13 game slate.  Sometimes when you go to take your morning shit it just don’t go right, ya know? Or like you say I’m gonna open the SportsBook app and place some bets, and you scroll and go back and forth so long that now you’re trying to evaluate your life decisions for taking under 2.5 sets in a Junior Asian Womens Tennis match and you’re not quite certain if Zhang or Zheng is winning… Well.  Sometimes when I jump into write my article and do the analysis it just doesn’t come out clear or clean.  Today.  Today was a good one.  I like it.   WEATHER Tigers at Orioles:  Just rainy and kinda chilly, I think they have a good path to play though and it’s nice to see this on the 7PM Slate Nationals at Braves:  Something about heavy floods and Waymo’s driving into the floods.  I dunno.  They survived the Olympic Bombings, the Atlanta Trashers and blowing a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.  I think they’re fine and the game plays here.   DAVIS MARTIN (DK: $8400) Best play on the slate.  Diverse pitch mix, tons of confidence right now, Giants lineup that isn’t good and really mediocre at home.  If he walks anyone in the 1st, he gets out through the heart of the order, and second time through the lineup will favor Martin today.  I think he’s going 7 IP. JACOB DEGROM (DK: $9500) Wasn’t immediately jumping on deGrom but then logic sets in and its like, yeah, hey, just uh, play deGrom tonight.  Thanks. Six game slate tonight after the heavy Wednesday afternoon slates.   WEATHER All clear with a slight chance of delay in NY.   EDWARD CABRERA (DK: $7200) Kyle Harrison is going great, and with a short slate there’s an immediate thought pattern here to just take both guys and move on.  The thing is Harrison is the easy play, the lefty has finally put it together of late & can safely attack the zone with fastballs early thanks to the wind blowing in.  He’s gonna be safe.  But it’s Carbera who bounces back, matches him and offers the best DFS upside. MICHAEL WACHA (DK: $8000) Boring.  Clean.  Safe.  Boston hit late, but still has failed to score more than 3 runs consistently.   DONT MIND Shohei Ohtani is the #1 arm today.  He is inflated like a steak special on a Friday night in terms of price.  There’s a couple stud players tonight on this short slate who have 20+ FPT potential and with a couple other options on the board, I’ll pass, but I wont hate it if you fit him in.   ATHLETICS / ANGELS This is the best all in spot, but not my favorite single team stack. This is a heavy Monday slate as there are five games on the Turbo before we go into a 9 game Main slate.  Big week of Baseball and yes….  The Chairman is correct.  Do not ask me twice.   WEATHER Warmer.  Much warmer.   Specifically on the turbo slate you have 78 degrees in Detroit.  86 in Washington (closer to 90 tbh), 85+ in Philly and then two Domes.  That slate looks fantastic. On the main slate it’s got a couple pop up storms in two spots Houston at Minnesota Boston at Kansas City (PPD Risk):  They moved the game up slightly to try and avoid some really bad weather. Warm and moderate winds OUT in Wrigley Field   BRYAN WOO (DK: $9000) Chicago strikes out way too much to not come into Seattle and have a big strikeout game for Woo tonight.  I like Schultz as well since Seattle cannot be trusted this season – but his walks of late are too much to try and be cute with him.  Take Woo, enjoy the 8 strikeout game. MICHAEL KING (DK: $8800) King and Yoshi are equal.  King is $900 cheaper & probably far less owned.  This game is not a fireworks to the moon offensive explosion, I think it’s a good pitchers duel. JT GINN (DK: $7500) The bottom of the list – do not go anywhere else.  Ginn’s great vs RHH which I think really favors him enough here.  Angels are basically in vacation mode now that we are close to Memorial Day.  Expect them to keep losing.     Brewers at Cubs Hey, congrats the Cubs are back home so magically they’re gonna hit 4 homers again.  But if anyone wants to know who is quietly locked in right now it’s Jackson Chourio for Milwaukee.  I really cannot see Chourio, Contereras, Vaughn not producing some early offense on Shota.  Love Milwaukee just as much here.   WEATHER Clear   Paul Skenes (DK: $10,300, FD: $10.8k) Strength vs strength here.  Wheeler vs Skenes and I think this whole game just shifts into the identity of two pitchers going at it and the hitters wind up doing very little.  Yes, Schwarber and Harper are both hot right now for Philly and will drive up the pitch count likely on Skenes too.  I don’t care. Gavin Williams (DK: $8600, FD: $10k) The rest of the options all come with some risk today.  The Gavin Williams risk is two part.  One, himself, because he is his own worst enemy and two because his car is in the front yard.  So, please tell me why we are going to use him when JJ Bleday is going to come in through the window and homer to right field in the 2nd inning.  Well, because that’s the only Red I think connects on him.  Williams finishes through 6 innings, 7 strikeouts today.   THE SUNDAY SLEEPER Stephen Kolek (DK: $7600) He’s checking every Sunday Sleeper box here.  Mid level (7k) pitcher, who typically doesn’t have insane upside, but manages to not blow up.  Coming in as a slight dog.  Wont have any ownership and nobody on the other side made my analysis despite there being plenty of favorable split spots.  Ignore the wind out to left.  Kolek spins a good game.   NOTES Friends do not let friends play Kevin Gausman on Sunday’s. Zack Wheeler is fine Nate Eovaldi starts again after missing his last one – worries me a little, I lean Peter Lambert if you want an arm in this game but he’s only $500 less than Gavin.   There’s a lot of good individual spots today, but any ‘core’ player should be correlated with key parts around him.  Building as if you are going 2-2-2 and then the two one offs are pairing with one of those stacks and your favorite island play.  OF and 1B are the deepest spots today, so maybe fill them last or as that 3 man stack. It’s a weird slate today.  Yep.  Hump day.   WEATHER All clear – calm before the storm.   Any pitcher who posts less than a 16 tonight is likely DOA in my mind.  I’m going risky I think with SP2 here but I believe in my theories.   JACOB MISIOROWSKI (DK: $10,500) Yeah, it’s probably a bad trap taking Miz off his dominant Yankee start & now the Padres roll in with Merrill sitting dead red.   But Tatis should not be able to hit with much hard contact & I think he handles Manny just fine too.  It’s him or Ohtani.  I’ll take picking on San Diego. NOAH SCHULTZ (DK: $7700) Sticking with my long running theory on the Royals not hitting someone they have not seen before versus hitting someone they know well.  Schultz will mow them down early.   OTHER OPTIONS Shohei Ohtani (prefer Miz) Seth Lugo Kumar Rocker   ATHLETICS The youth movement is in full swing.  I like that Henry Bolte got a little taste of MLB yesterday and that’s out of the way.  He was white hot in the minors (granted, it was the PCL) & although Liberatore has good velocity, I don’t view him as someone that can over power Bolte.
