DraftKings with a big whiff on the slate configuration for today.  A small 20 minute gap is too big for them to combine the two slates into one nice 10 game slate. Toronto and Boston are resuming their suspended game early and then have their regularly scheduled game tonight Miami is in Coors, which always turns into a 14-12 game with 8 home runs. Tampa Bay is in Seattle, the Mike Zunino Series Detroit continues their series on the South Side.  I was a Riley Greene HR away from 300k yesterday.  Fun times.  He’s a lock homer today my friends. And the Braves are at the Twins … Party like it’s the 1991 World Series   On the DK Turbo slate these games/series are taking place with each of them being on the FanDuel MAIN slate. Astros (Blanco) at Phillies (Wheeler):   Philly is a good stack with Wheeler being good to use.  Much rather go with him at home than Cortes on the road (see below) Cubs (Taillon) at Pirates (Keller):   Pittsburgh is a good stack here.  Taillon has come back to earth in the second half. Royals (Marsh) at Guardians (Allen) HUGE is an understatement on how large this series is.  Cleveland could really put a dagger in the Royals divisional hopes as part of a double header today. Pending how the first game goes I like offense here. Yankees (Cortes) at Nationals (Parker) The Yankees are going to see 3 lefties in their trip to DC this week.  Ironically the key guy for me is Jazz who has hit all three of these specific lefties and certainly gets to come up to the dish after the gauntlet of Soto-Judge-Stanton right now.  Nobody is talking about how hot Stanton is at the moment and he is one of those big time HR streak guys.  I think he’s your key focus here along with Jazz and some bottom of the lineup garbage for value. We are down to just two more MLB Sunday’s and have a nine game one today before the Holiday weekend next week.   WEATHER A heat wave is coming back through the nation so maybe, just maaybe we’ll see some home runs today? All games play   KEVIN GAUSMAN (DK: $9300, FD: $9000) This guy on Sunday’s is starting to pitch more than Logan Webb does on day games.  He isn’t up there on the Jose Quintana or Brady Singer level of staring on Sunday’s but it always feels like when he does he is facing a shitty opponent and heavy chalk.  The Angels of Anaheim have entered the chat … Without many other high end upside options today you should just take Gausman at 80% and move on — I know that’s not what you want to hear, but it’s the truth. Now, lets go find you a SP2. … … … You’re not going to find anything in any data element that clearly points to a second option.   TANNER HOUCK (DK: $8800, FD: $9300) There’s one guy who could possibly match Gausman and it’s Houck, but he’s also gonna have to roll through the typical lefty gauntlet that the Diamondbacks are rolling out.  Jake McCarthy may be showing signs of coming back to earth and if that’s the case then Houck will get through the first 5 without major damage while getting plenty of run support IMO. NICK MARTINEZ (DK: $6500) Gut feeling, nothing more, nothing less.  He’s my cheaper SP2 today.   OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS Marcus Stroman could throw a no hitter while helping deliver a baby in section 147 during the 6th inning and I still wouldn’t regret fading him. If Tyler Anderson wasn’t $8200 I would take a gamble on him repeating his success vs the Blue Jays In case you haven’t noticed I can’t trust a guy who has Ass and sad in his name — even vs the Marlins.  Just bad mojo.
