NFL Week 4 – TNF Showdown

Well, if you thought the Presidential Debate the other night was a trainwreck then you are sure to enjoy tonights Thursday Night game.  Denver Broncos and New York Jets!!! I’ll be watching Baseball.   GAME WINNER BET BRONCOS +2 Two bad teams, I’ll take the one getting points and a little less beat up.  Which […]

NFL Notes – Week 4

NFL Week 4 Notes Dom Steve Broncos at Jets – No Fans 13-6 … dunno who wins. 13-6 Jets win Sam Darnold looks respectable.  280 yards passing, 2 TD, 30 yards rushing. I couldn’t name any Jets skill players besides the White Berrios, so White Berrios it is. Broncos … Maybe Jeudy?  Maybe?  I have […]

The Dongers Club – October 1st

We are down to five games and that eight game playoff day was kinda cool but short lived.  The slate includes games at Noon, 2PM, 3PM, 7PM and 10PM today with every game having an elimination possibility in it.  As a Baseball fan, I am definitely rooting for all four National League series to end up split 1-1 today so we have four more games tomorrow.   WEATHER Some rain in Chicago for the Marlins and Cubs, but it looks like it’s light enough to play through   Clayton Kershaw I know all about his playoff history and it doesn’t phase me one bit.  Kershaw quietly had one of his best seasons this year and I honestly believe that pitching in the playoffs without fans will be a boost for him.  Once again the major concern here is Dave Roberts pulling him early but I would still expect 6 innings of clean baseball from Kershaw. Yu Darvish Most of you know I am not a Darvish fan, never have been and never will be.  But the Cubs are in desperation mode and this game looks like the version of the Braves/Reds yesterday with this being a quiet 2-1 game. when things are all said and done.  The Rain is enough for me to possibly get scared off him and I definitely would not pay 11.3k for him on FanDuel today but he’s affordable on DraftKings and should be looked at there with Kershaw. Sixto Sanchez In the five games going today there are three rookie pitchers.  Sanchez, Ian Anderson (Atlanta) and Dane Dunning (Chicago).  I will break down why I do not like Dunning and Anderson later but I do think Sanchez could be a viable option today.  One thing to strongly consider in the playoffs is game-stacking pitchers and then game-stacking hitters in another spot.  Typically we aren’t going to see 7-1 type games in playoff match-ups and that’s what I project today in Wrigley between the Marlins and the Cubs.  Weather in Chicago is always key and it’s good for the pitchers today.  Sanchez out of all the rookies has the best pure ‘stuff’ and his Change-Up against Anthony Rizzo will be something to watch for in this game.  If you roll with Sanchez, roll with him along with Darvish.   White Sox vs Athletics Pitchers This is slated to be Dane Dunning (CHW) versus either Sean Manaea […]

The Dongers Club – Playoffs – Sep 30th

Merry Christmas Baseball fans.  We have eight playoff games today beginning at Noon Eastern and going until 10:00 pm Eastern tonight when the Brewers and Dodgers will wrap things up out west.  If we are lucky we will get eight more games on Thursday as well but that means all the losing teams from Tuesday in the American League need to pull things out today.   National League Series Starting Today Reds vs Braves The Reds have the starting pitching and the Braves have the bullpen.  Both teams have good lineups with Atlanta having the heavier star power with Acuna and Freeman, along with Ozuna, Duvall, Albies this is a lineup that has hit most of the season.  This to me is the hardest round for the Reds but if they can get some hitting here they’ll cruise in a 2 game sweep. Series Pick:  Reds in 3 Marlins vs Cubs This is a better series than you think.  The Marlins are a better lineup than you think.  But the veteran Cubs have actually shocked me most of the season the way they have played with a ton of energy and the starting pitching has been solid.  Their problem?  The bullpen.  In a longer series this is a no brainer Marlins win.  In the short series the Marlins will need to steal game one vs Hendricks. Series Pick:  Cubs in 3 – this one pains me. Cardinals vs Padres The Cardinals just have not had consistent hitting or pitching all season.  This is a two games and done spot. Series Pick: Padres in 2. Brewers vs Dodgers Simply put.  The Brewers are out classed here and do not belong. Series Pick:  Dodgers in 2.         Wednesday Dongers Club So how do we attack this eight game slate in which the games are starting almost every hour on the hour?  We go game by game and look at what the expected run production will be, which pitchers can have strikeout upside and who is going to win.   Yesterday I got two games dead wrong in the winners as the White Sox and Yankees stuck it to me.   Today will be a bounce back spot for all of us.   WEATHER Wind boost in Minnesota, 15 MPH out to right field. Wind impact in Chicago, very windy but more of a cross wind out to right field Wind impact […]

The Dongers Club – Playoffs – Sep 29th.

Let’s go my friends, the best time of the year is here even if it is a little weird.  Fall is in the air and we are ready for playoff baseball.  Expanded playoffs this season which means expanded DFS too and I’ll be covering any slate that has three or more games on it. The opening Wild Card round games are best of three and played in the home teams stadium with some spots having the families of the home team in attendance. After that we go into four bubble sites for the rest of the playoffs and there are no planned off days in those rounds so expect fast and furious DFS action. The American League kicks things off today with four games and both sites have one main slate with all the games on them.  Tomorrow we will have EIGHT games!!!  So lets hope we get something similar tomorrow with a large main slate.  I have included a quick breakdown on each of the opening three game series in the American League below and will break down the National League series starting up tomorrow in Wednesday’s article.  Here’s a full list of the teams to look at betting to win the World Series and if you get one of them to advance deep there’s always going to be good hedge opportunities to re-capture your investment no matter what. The first set of odds next to each team is to win the World Series. The second set in parenthesis is to win each team’s respective league.   World Series Bets Dodgers: +350 (+130) The chalk and the logical play.   You are better off taking the +350 in my mind to win it all.Athletics: +1000 (+500) I like Oakland at +500 to win the American League a lot.  Losing Matt Chapman could wind up being a big blow but they did replace him with Jake Lamb who seems to have found a resurgence late in the year.  For my money, Oakland has the best bullpen setup with a ton of guys who can go a couple innings in relief and shut down the opponents. Padres: +1000 (+500) The Padres have to go through the Dodgers in the second round, which would be a five game series in Texas if they both advance to that spot.  It would be the most thrilling most likely but the Dodgers are a tough road […]

NFL Week 3 – MNF Showdown

Bon Appetit tonight.   GAME WINNER BET CHIEFS +3 Two great teams playing and in a season where home field isn’t impacting things very much I will take the side which is getting points and has the better Quarterback.   GAME CAPTAINS Lamar Jackson – QB – Ravens My logic here is that Lamar is […]

NFL Week 3 – SNF Showdown

Sorry for getting this out late, tied up but this is an easy game for me to break down.  I have had this circled as a tough spot for the Saints for months now and still think it will be a close and low scoring game.   GAME WINNER BET SAINTS This is a very […]

The AMBUSH – NFL Week 3

Welcome to the Week 3 NFL DFS Ambush. It’s time to jump into the NFL Week 3 slate and I will begin each week with something that I feel is extremely important for every full breakdown NFL DFS article out there.  I am not talking about your sneaky stacks, GPP only, value plays or just […]

CFB DFS: Saturday, September 26th

College Football is finally starting to take shape and I honestly am excited that the SEC and eventually the Big Ten are jumping straight into conference play.  We had to deal with non FBS schools and teams like the Citadel for the past two weekends but this Saturday’s slate is fantastic.   Yes, one game got […]

The Dongers Club – Friday, September 25th

We have reached the final main slate of the season that is really worth playing.  Going into this weekend there’s a ton of College Football and Pro Football to focus our time rather than the mixture of what is out there with MLB DFS the final weekend of the short season.  The playoffs next week are squarely on my radar and I hope we get some good slates from both DraftKings and FanDuel for the Wild Card rounds. There are 10 games on DraftKings tonight and only 9 on FanDuel. The Padres and Giants game is not on FanDuel, and this is a mid afternoon San Francisco game which will feature shadows and would only be worthy of considering pitchers in — but I do not trust either.   Chris Bassit Best play on the board when we consider price and opponent for the AL West Champions tonight.  Love Oakland going into the playoffs along with the Indians by the way. Dylan Cease Speaking of those White Sox who are reeling they are hosting the cross town Cubs tonight.  Cease and Darvish are likely to get into a pitchers duel as both offenses are kind of quiet tonight but the salary relief on Cease is why I am writing him up.  I just don’t want to go 11k+ for Darvish in a game the Cubs honestly do not have to have. Brad Keller What a time of the season we have when the Tigers and Royals are at the top of stack recommendations.  Tonight’s game has good wind in it but Keller and Turnbull both get a ton of ground balls.  So look for the pitchers to do well in this game tonight.   Cleveland Indians Jose Ramirez continues to rake and the entire lineup should do that as well tonight against Mitch Keller.  With the new lineup that has Lindor leading off we have seen Lindor himself do a little better, but really J-Ramierz and Cesar Hernandez have been the guys that are must plays in your Indians stacks. Atlanta Braves Remember how they murdered Boston earlier this year in Fenway park?  The Braves have been money all season long at home and no reason to not like them again this weekend against Boston.  Atlanta is cruising into the playoffs despite having no starting pitching most of the season and should beat up on Boston to stay hot. Cincinnati […]
