GAVIN WILIAMS (DK: $9400) This could just be me being stubbourn but I am very upset with how bad the Mariners have done & want to just throw them into the banned pool.  You failed me Mariners.  You failed me big time. SUNDAY SLEEPER RYAN FELTNER (DK: $6300) Nobody really thinks that Feltner is a terrible pitcher & his splits this year set him up in a favorable spot vs the lefty heavy Twins lineup.   OTHER NOTES Hunter Brown & Jack Flaherty:  If we are simming this game on a video game then yeah you can like both.  But we aren’t and their recent form/injury status/concerns is just too much to touch either. WEATHER I expect all games to play tonight.   Clear path tonight on building is centered around pairing Sanchez + Schlitler, or fading one.  Or, I guess, you could fade them both, but I would not fade Cam against Boston — they haven’t hit at home most of the season & he has been getting guys to chase everything once he gets ahead in the count. WEATHER No issues   Yet another awful pitching slate, which having less games to pick from compounds the issue tonight.  When I say awful it’s not so much the names as it is the construct of how we get there. SHOHEI OHTANI (DK: $11,500) If Ohtani gave up homers then maybe we could find a fault here, but he doesn’t.  And the Twins are not a team who really can step in having not seen him in forever and give him problems.  There’s only one path to getting around not having him and that’s him getting busted for betting on womens tennis — which I doubt is happening — so just play him, enjoy the 25+ point outing and move on, because nobody else will touch him today. GAGE JUMP (DK: $8800) Alright, I’ll take notice and take the great park & bad Giants offense here to trust the kid.  Another case of a college pitcher getting up to speed pretty quickly though & while I avoid any rookie pitcher earlier I do acknowledge when they look comfortable.  Gage has ‘jumped’ (sorry, had to do the pun) into the A’s rotation with some favorable opponents (Angels, Rockies, Cubs before they started juicing again) and he gets another tonight. TREY YESAVAGE (DK: $8400) After his first 7 starts this year resulted in 0 HR allowed, Trey has given up 5 over his last 3 in June.  Could be a sign of the baseballs changing as two of the games were at home and not really prone to heavy humidity/warmth.  But with a thin slate on pitching options and his strikeout upside still being strong I would put him back in the mix that he is able to fix the HR trend.  His downside is 3+ HR, but these aren’t the Astros of old, they do have whiffs in the lineup.   OTHER SP NOTES Imanaga vs Senga finally tonight at Citi Field for the second game.  With the first one going over and the path of the Cubs the lean is Mets and under, but I would generally just stay away from this game all together. I have a bone to pick with all you fools out there. I know you guys are reading the articles, I hear and see the comments. But who cares on the Turbo slate.  Just play Jac and win.   Main Slate Cubs at Mets:  Lots of rain here but a chance they wait it out and get the game in.     KYLE BRADISH (DK: $8500) Bradish has become one of the more unpredictable pitchers because when he is on like his last start he is in that ‘Ace’ level & when he is off, he reminds you why alcohol is so friendly to so many people.  The bottom line is that there’s no chance he repeats exactly the CSW% rate he had vs Seattle in the Dome, but the Angels do swing and miss a ton & are still going to be pitcher friendly for someone who has the potential to be filthy. WEATHER PIT at COL:  Mid 90’s in Coors Field.  Skenes should not be bothered by the altitude but the heat on top of it could present an interesting result.   Christopher Sanchez (DK: $11,700) The price is high and the Mets rake in Philly.  I do not care.  The weirdness of the schedule with the off day Friday because of a meaningless World Cup game that they should have never played (seriously, that was the biggest beat down ever, did Brasil just send out kids in the second half to take it easy???), is what brings me here.  I think that little gap and then a night game tonight puts Sanchez in the drivers seat to mow through the Mets order.  It’s enough to give him a little extra boost back into the 30 DK FPT tier. WEATHER All clear   WILL WARREN (DK: $8000) Warren definitely won’t bring the same velocity that Schlitter did last night and I really underestimated how bad the Reds are versus the high velocity fastballs right now.  That said, he does lean into it a lot and should be repeating what we saw last night enough to work out.  I equally like his opponent Andrew Abbott today – who no, is not related to Jim Abbott who of course threw a no hitter in Yankee stadium. MAX MEYER (DK: $9900) His rating (which is like a projection, yes) for us today is lower than it is expected.  The strikeouts could be low today vs the Giants, so I’m bumping him down for that reason, but he is still the top arm on the slate — even with Sale being an option. NATE EOVALDI (DK: $9300) No clue what the hell that was from deGrom last night, but maybe the Padres just hit slams in Texas.  Eovaldi’s risk is that San Diego basically just sits dead red.  His advantage is that I still think they just suck. But I honestly think you can avoid him today.  However, don’t expect it to be some awesome brilliant fade if he suddenly leaves early in the 4th inning or is in trouble with pitch count and walks, because there’s no reason to think either is happening.
