JACOB DEGROM (DK: $8800, FD: $9400) I am going to take this bait here.  It’s a pass night on me for the Webb/Pivetta match-up & Crochet against the Jays will be good and probably an okay pay up along with Peralta too.  However, the safety that deGrom should bring is what I trust.  Facing the SP twice in a row can be considered advantage for hitting – this however, is a veteran pitcher against a relatively young lineup.  Advantage pitcher.  0 runs, and he flirts with a no hitter tonight for 5 innings and then he’s gotta go rest that arm. BRYCE MILLER (DK: $8200, FD: $9100) DraftKings did not help us with a cheap SP2 choice today, so pairing Miller and another mid range (deGrom) option is something you may find yourself doing.  Trust him at home even with Trout coming into Seattle for his annual beatdown on Mariners pitching in that stadium.  Fine, one guy, we move on and then Miller finishes with 18+ DK FPTS.  Tonight, that’s just fine. OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS E-Fraud pitches way better than he should, he’s also way more expensive than he should be. This is a nice clean Monday slate to start off the week.  We’ll be skipping the wrap around game that the Mets and Nationals are playing today and also miss out on the Twins in Cleveland, but have SIX games on the MAIN slates with no weather concerns. WEATHER No issues.   JP SEARS (DK: $8700, FD: $9800) Texas approach vs LHP will once again be to roll out nothing but RHH.  It lowers Sears strikeouts but really the Texas RHH aren’t doing jack shit.  Being at home could help, but I just don’t see it tonight. DUSTIN MAY (DK: $9500, FD: $9300) Good pitching matchup with May and Cabrera.  Two talented guys that are a little overhyped.  Advantage for May in the obvious lineup vs the Marlins — outside of Agustin Ramirez who is in a cloud still after his promotion last week. More schedule adjustments today.  Toronto at New York playing a double-header and then the Reds and Rockies game is only on FanDuel. WEATHER Late April cold fronts moving through, so nothing in the 80’s today & a couple games that have wind in them. Blue Jays at Yankees:  Game 1 will have strong winds blowing out to RF Mets at Nationals:  They’ll have strong winds blowing in   TYLOR MEGILL (DK: $7700, FD: $9100) It has not been a common spot for us to attack the Nationals as they’ve got good young bats & do not strike out a ton.  But with their recent struggles overall and the wind today I think we can take Megill who is pitching very well in 2025.  He has a strong pitch mix too which should be his advantage against the younger bats and handles LHH well. JOE RYAN (DK: $8500, FD: $9500) The Angels might not score a run today.  This lineup is hot garbage after Trout leading off. MAX FRIED (DK: $9500, FD: $10,300) I was not in love with Fried on the big Saturday slate before it was PPD, but I like him today on the short slate with the wind blowing out?  Sure.  I don’t know.  Maybe it’s what I had for dinner last night or extra drinks, shoot me.  It could also be that Toronto’s ice cold offensively and then just had to take a day off due to the PPD.  They’ll be lucky to score 3 runs today.   GUARDIANS Our top hitter today is Jose ‘Bubba’ Ramirez.  Bello won’t be able to strike him out and theres a great chance that one or both of Kwan/Nolan Jones are already on base so walking Ramirez isn’t great either.  Either way, the full package of Kwan-Jones-Ramirez-Manzardo with old man Santana hitting 5th sets up Cleveland to Ambush Bello. This is what we call a West Virginia slate.  Wild and wonderful with 17 total MLB games today and for DraftKings they properly spread it out across 2 slates with a mini Turbo at 6PM as well. The two extra games are Boston @ Cleveland and Baltimore at Detroit playing double headers and both are on the 1PM “Main” slate today as I consider the 7PM the night slate. WEATHER Toronto at New York:  PPD   CASEY MIZE (DK: $7700) Mize is now almost Mr. Automatic 20 at home.  Getting a fair amount of grounders, which is key today with the wind blowing out — but it is to dead center, so expect some long outs when they do lift the ball. HUNTER GREENE (DK: $8900) The “is Greene the best pitcher in Baseball” crowd finally took one on the chin a week ago — and yes, it’s been a full week since he pitched.  But this is the Rockies & in Coors the only concern is if they make contact, which with Greene should be limited today. OTHER PITCHING THOUGHTS Robbie Ray and Tyler Mahle are both 3a and 3b.  We know the drill with both, it can go south very quickly and this being a day game in San Francisco reduces the chances they are safe. I like both Gausman and Fried, but rain delay concerns have to be factored in. I want to trust Luzardo and Brown, but I cannot trust the baseballs in Wrigley just yet, although isn’t it funny how the Dodgers leave town and Colin Rea/Tiajuan Walker give us a 4-0 game? Happy Friday.  Big weekend coming up because I am really curious what the sites do tomorrow with two 1PM games, two 2PM games, a 3PM game that’s not Toronto at home, then four at 4, one at 6 and the rest after.  The folks over at FanDuel might lose their minds tomorrow with the number of slates they’ll be able to come up with. But for now, we focus on a fine Friday with a 12 game MAIN slate tonight. WEATHER Red Sox at Guardians:  They can play this, but there is also an inch of rain forecasted throughout the day and they’ll probably be like, wah, rain, wah….  This is a big bummer if the game is in a delay because then we can’t get a full LiC smash spot for Boston. Breaking news.  FanDuel got it right today.  Not only did they do the early slate correctly (5 games), but they merged the two Turbo time window games into the MAIN slate tonight as their MAIN locks at 6:45.  DraftKings meanwhile is the incompetent ones with no Mariners/Red Sox and no Orioles/Nationals included — despite the “juiced ball” game in Wrigley being on the table. For tonights slate, I feel very contrarian in terms of the offensive spots I will be attacking.  You have been warned.  Either ride the contrarian ship or go with the chalk. WEATHER All clear   LOGAN WEBB (DK: $10k, FD: $10.8k) Webb has gotten 10+ swinging strikes in each of his last four games as he is having an excellent start to the 2025 campaign.  He’s one of the top 5 pitchers right now in Baseball and we should treat him as such when at home in a night game.  San Francisco will bounce back tonight. MICHAEL LORENZEN (DK: $7300 FD $8200) The battle of average versus bad, and Lorenzen is the average side.  If Colorado wants to roll out all those lefties tonight then that’ll play just fine for Lorenzen.  I wouldn’t be shocked if he put it together and was 6 IP strong with 0 ER allowed because that’s how shitty Colorado is.  And yes, he should be chalky. KUMAR ROCKER (DK: $6900, FD: $7900) Roll the dice in a hitters park against an offense which is sneaky good and has the new shiny toy that probably homers off him.  Throw all that out the window and recognize that Rocker’s got good command of late to pair with his high strikeout potential.  He’s a considerable option to pivot off Lorenzen.
