NFL DFS TNF Showdown – Week 14 – New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers>
Core Plays
New England Patriots: RB Ezekiel Elliott
- This game should be disgusting, let’s just get that out of the way first. However, one of the few fantasy assets that we should see in this game is Elliott who should be a lock for 20 touches. With Rhamondre Stevenson out for this game, Elliott should be a focal point in the running and receiving game.
Pittsburgh Steelers: QB Mitch Trubisky
- We have to severely lower expectations here because Trubisky stinks. With that said, though, he’s not afraid to throw the ball downfield and he has some ability to scramble. All in all, between the two Quarterback’s, Trubisky is the best option, which is terrifying.
*NOTE: All plays above are obviously “Captain” viable
Captain Plays
Pittsburgh Steelers: WR Diontae Johnson
- In the games that Johnson has had Trubisky at Quarterback, he has been the focal point in the passing game. In the setting that the opposing defense plays a lot of man, Johnson is typically effective and that’s exactly what the Patriots do. Outside of Elliott for the Patriots, Johnson could see the most volume in this game with the Steelers’ backfield in question as far as the health of Najee Harris goes.
Others to consider:
- Steelers D/ST
Flex Plays
New England Patriots: TE Hunter Henry
- With the Patriots receivers banged up, notably Pop Douglas being out, Henry should see some more targets for Bailey Zappe who is, put nicely, extremely limited at Quarterback. The range of outcomes is extreme for Henry but four to five receptions for 50 to 60 yards is in the realm of possibilities. If he happens to score then we’re on our way to some solid production.
Others to consider:
- WR George Pickens (PIT)
- WR DeVante Parker (NE)
- RB Najee Harris (PIT)
- RB Jaylen Warren (PIT)
- K Chris Boswell (PIT)
- WR Juju Smith-Schuster (NE)
