CBB DFS: The ONIONS – March 9th

Looks like DK is going to have tons of CBB contests, so lots of opportunities to dive in and learn the sport.

We have the best tools/dashboard/optimizer in the industry and I do not say things like that often because I dont want to sound annoying – but it’s true.

Now, for some analysis….

Pay Up Studs

Scotty Pippen – Vanderbilt – 9800

Pippen who plays 36 minutes per game, leads the Commodores in usage and is averaging a measly 44+ fppg over the last month draws the fast and fantasy friendly Georgia Bulldogs.  So many games on this slate tonight you really don’t have any reason to not play him unless you are building simply around other game stacks.

Other:

  • Javon Freeman-Liberty – DePaul – 9700
  • Kario Oquendo – Georgia – 7700
  • David Jones – DePaul – 8400
  • John Harrar – Penn State – 7000
  • Taz Sherman – WVU – 7300
  • Boo Buie – Northwestern – 7300

Middle Range

Kadaray Richmond – Seton Hall – 6500

Richmond is questionable but expected to play.  If he sits then Jamir Harris becomes a CORE Lock play.  If he sits as well then Myles Cale becomes the best regular to get a boost.  I expect Richmond to play, play his usual minutes, and play well.

Richmond should not be bothered by tournament play and he is a Scoring type PG against the Hoyas, so we’re done with this analysis as that’s going to result in him being the most popular play for me today.  Next….

Other:

  • Braelen Bridges – Georgia – 6200
  • Aaron Wheeler – St. Johns – 6700
  • Mark Smith – Kansas State – 7600
  • Emmitt Matthews – Washington – 6200
  • Nate Roberts – Washington 5700
  • Myles Cayle – Seton Hall – 5800 — Depends upon Richmond’s status.  This is the easiest pivot in terms of salary.
  • Alexis Yetna – Seton Hall – 6000

Sub 5500 Value

Trevon Brazile – Mizzou – 4600

Ole Miss is a mess, so I love the Tigers to win and they had success vs the Rebels in the regular season as well. Brazile has been playing with great form of late, should see plenty of minutes and is one of the safer value options I see today.

Other:

  • Myles Stute – Vanderbilt – 3700
  • Jamir Harris – Seton Hall – 3400 — If Richmond is OUT
  • Ismael Massaoud – Kansas St – 3600
  • Mouhamed Gueye – Wash St – 5500
  • Gabe Osabuohien – WVU – 4000

Georgia vs Vanderbilt

Couple main studs here who should showcase well in this game.    Two players who could shine if they shoot well in their attempts.  Center Braelen Bridges for Georgia and F Myles Stute for Vanderbilt.

  • Georgia:  Kario Oquendo, Braelen Bridges
  • Vanderbilt:  Scotty Pippen, Quentin Milora-Brown, Myles Stute

Georgetown vs Seton Hall

Hoyas 38th in tempo, Seton Hall 121st in tempo but 63rd offensively vs 245th Georgetown Defense.  Seton Hall won last meeting 73-68 at home.

  • Georgetown:  Aminu Mohammed, Collin Halloway
  • Seton Hall:   Kadary Richmond, Yetna

Nebraska vs Northwestern

Cornhuskers are playing decent of late, Alonzo Verge is cruising along and has potential to steal a game here again but Bryce McGowens back in the lineup should draw down his upside some.

  • Nebraska:  ALonzo Verge or Bryce McGowens
  • Northwestern:  Boo Buie, Chase Audige, Pete Nance

Clemson vs Virginia Tech

Clemson looks like they have that feel of a team coming out of nowhere to make a big run in their conference tournament.  They have two anchor players in PJ Hall and David Collins and  enough vet experience on this team to make a run here.  This could be their biggest test against a VT team who should grind them out.  This is a 2% owned gamestack for larger spots.

  • Clem:  PJ Hall, David Collins
  • VT:  Justyn Mutts

Richmond had 37.3 FPTS vs Georgetown on March 2nd win.
