We dive into tonight’s set of games while extending another invitation to all those NBA dollars that are in the NHL lobby thanks to their All-Star Break. There are only five games tonight and it includes Edmonton vs Ottawa so without a doubt the Oilers are the most likely chalk team tonight.
STACKS
Dallas Stars
Pavelski – Gurianov – Benn – Klingberg
My favorite play tonight because I don’t see Dallas scoring outside of this line and they’re all affordable enough that you can full stack this and hope for a 3+ goal upside from these players. This is the best sneaky 5.5 total tonight to go over as the Hawks will score a couple goals to put the pressure on this one going over by the 2nd period.
Washington Capitals
Backstrom – Ovechkin – Oshie – Carlson
I personally don’t love Washington getting ONE home game after a 5 game road trip and then going right back on the road after tonight. But the Devils PK stinks, Ovi has shown signs of life lately and Oshie is still too cheap and will be on the top line filling in for Wilson for a while. I expect this to be a chalky play tonight, so consider fading for that purpose if you want to live dangerous.
Carolina Hurricanes
Power Play Exposure
The Hurricanes should murder the Preds tonight. PP exposure is a must here, center exposure is a must here and defenseman exposure is a must here. Trocheck-Nino are the top FWD correlations I like but Aho-Hamilton as a C/D combo works as does Staal-Svechnikov. Lots of ways to mess with ‘lina tonight and thus a 5 man stack with two centers should be considered too.
Buffalo vs Philadelphia
Jack Eichel is OUT tonight for Buffalo. The Flyers should win this one 6-1 with the 1 being an own goal scored by Nolan Patrick
Two struggling teams will face off and so far this season the results have been one sided with the Flyers winning the last three meetings 3-0, 3-0 and 3-0 after the Sabres took the first one 6-1. Throw all of that out of the window though, the Sabres are a complete mess with their trust and Jack Eichel hasn’t scored a goal since January 28th and he hasn’t been able to hit the SOG bonus since January 31st. This might be near the lowest his price has ever been and if the Sabres are going to get anything going he would have to help make it happen. But the side I trust more and logic says would be the better play is the Philly side. Fans are back in Philly and so is my temptation to want to load up on the Flyers. Coots-JVR-Farabee have some high price tags on them and we should take that heavily into account tonight which is why I prefer Hayes-Konecny with Ghost or Provorov as pairings from the defensemen.

- Brayden Point — Hasn’t lit the lamp himself for a while and Detroit is an extremely favorable match-up. But this is a 3-0 dominant Tampa game and I’d prefer to have Vasilevskiy exposure here.

- Alex Ovechkin / TJ Oshie / Vrana … These are the main 3 to get from the Caps or just fade them entirely. Sorry, it’s not the best analysis but this is a classic on paper the Caps flop spot and I am torn on how I will wind up handling them, as of right now they’re not gonna be on my main lineup outside of Oshie because he is truly, a great, American, Hero….
